1) Find a coin.
2) Mark one side as Portal 2, one side MK.
3) Flip and see what side lands face up. Buy the game it picks for you.
4) ???
5) An initial loss, followed by PROFIT.

Simple.

Gotta go with Mortal Kombat.

Portal 2 was good enough. It obviously has single player and multi-player, both of which are decent, but it has practically zero replay value. I'm regretting buying it for that very reason. A 1 time rent would have done just fine, and even then I would have only needed it for about 4-5 hours, 5-7 if you include beating multi-player as well.

Mortal Kombat has fights that change every time, arcade mode(with team battles as well), tons of things to unlock, and a story mode(which I haven't tried yet).

Mortal Kombat. If you want the authentic Portal 2 experience just play Portal 1 again but take a little longer.

Plus it has, you know, replay value. Something neither portal 1 nor 2 will ever quite have.

Don't forget that a competently made fighting game will always be superior to an insultingly simplistic puzzle game.

I'd say get Mortal Kombat
The Portal ending was a bit of a downer
Especialy when
GLADoS trapped Chell in the poverty simulator, where she had to get a low wage job as a Hooters waitress. For Science.

the first Portal was crap and the Mortal Kombat demo seemed promising so I would go with that.

I say Portal 2 because I don't like fighter games. i think it really depends on which type you like more, puzzle-platformer or fighter.

See, if I have a problem that, while not important, I still have trouble deciding, this is what I do. However, I don't think you have a problem. Get Portal 2.

Mortal Kombat. Unlike previous entries in the series, this one's good.

The story mode is really damn good, though not without flaws. You can't skip cutscenes (this is bad for reasons I'll explain shortly) and it isn't entirely rare that you with your single character are pitted against two fighters who can tag with each other. And Shao Kahn is goddamn cheap.

Anyway, cutscenes. You may think, "If you don't want to watch cutscenes, why are you playing Story Mode?" Excellent question. I do want to watch the cutscenes. The trouble is that if you ever need to leave Story Mode to tweak your controls or you have to turn the game off, going back means you have to watch all of the cutscenes prior to the last fight you had. Sometimes there are decent chunks of cinematics. And you can't skip them.

Still, it is a fantastic mode and I do believe Netherrealm Studios has won me over with this game.

Excuse me, but the original trilogy are rather well made too. Don't cut the games short.

As expected, though, the Valve fanboys have utterly flooded the poll. Oh well.

I'd lean to Portal 2...

But personally, I'm going to have to say to Hell with both of them and save up for Brink.

Portal 2. Because I'm an arty snob who thinks that dark humor and puzzles are more engaging then pressing a button to rip someone's head off.
