Heh, capital i and lowercase L look the same, it makes writing Illegal funny.

Anyways, simple poll. I ask the question around a lot at school, and a surprisingly high number of students say "No way are you crazy!". This just shows how schools and media has done their job in scaring us about the 'dangers' of marijuana. I don't take it by the way, so don't let that change your opinion of me.

Anyways, schools have been telling us that Marijuana is bad mmkay. They show us a video of some lil' Johnny being pressured into taking a puff of the green. And instantly his world becomes a colorful trippy world of unicorns and dragons. They do a good job at convincing the kids that this is what really happens with marijuana, even though it isn't. And then while the kid has a massive headache, he has to do something that requires perfect concentration, like take a test. He fails the test and its clear that it is because he took weed. And the moral is don't puff green stuff. Well I think it should be legalized because it only hurts people who are caught using it. It makes me sad when I imagine a cop thinking he's helping the world by arresting some guy who took some weed for up to ten years. But if you think it should not be legalized then tell me why you think so. Instead of just saying "IZZ BAAD!"

I realize that this isn't a good question to ask on the internet somewhere like Yahoo Answers or another forum, since there are a lot of "urban mothers with 2 kids who has facebook" who will jump at the opportunity to tell me why its bad and why I am bad for even thinking about it. But, c'mon that kind of person is most likely to be the one who believes what Fox News says, and be uneducated in the subject at hand, which brings their opinion down to 1.9 shits (couldn't give 2 shits).
Also here is something to think about if you're not familiar with Marijuana.

[HEADING=3]What happens when its Illegal[/HEADING]
- People go to jail when caught, for the same amount of time as murders in some cases.
- By having it illegal it is easier for younger kids to take and abuse it. (Legalizing it would enforce an age limit.) Because drug dealers don't ask if you're 18.
- Drug dealers have no competition from the government, and are able to make money.

[HEADING=3]What happens when its Legal [/HEADING]
- It becomes harder for underage people to get a hold of it, because it will be monitored as much as cigarettes (which is worse than marijuana may I add).
- Drug dealers suddenly lose their customers. Do you see any people illegally selling cigarettes? No you don't.
- Math professors become more laid back thanks to weed. Which means no more psycho teacher moments.

If it's legal, it might solve some crime problems. I'd be alright with it.

No used in moderation, say smoking once every other week is not going to cause total havoc on your system and by all accounts might be a safer habit then smoking, but nobody who smokes just smokes one cigarette every other week, and if you smoked 15 marijuana cigarettes a day you would quickly realize something that a lot of teenagers never did (but I am sure their parents did) at high levels of use the stuff affects the brain, and in youngings can impede brain development.

Tell me you never met a stoner who was "perma-fried" they didn't get like that because they where naturally that way. At least cigarettes only kill your lungs, and alcohol kills your liver.

As far as legal or not. I highly doubt if they made it legal most people would keep it to minimum use, they don't do it now and the stuff is illegal. Not that I really care, cause I don't really feel the need to do any drugs.

I had a pack and a half a day habit when I was 15. It was far easier to get a hold of cigarettes the weed.

Legal. It's pretty obvious that you can't stop people from buying drugs and it's even more obvious that by making it legal most of the current "drug empires" will cease to exist.

(P.S., I'm for every single drug being legal, not just weed.)

Given that it does not help anyone it should be illegal. This also applies to other things like beer. I will post the real reason why pot is illegal due to medical problems later, iPods the worst researcher ever...

....lucky bastards.....
OT: I'm completely against recreational drug use, but definitely for the legalization of Marijuana. Think about it: so many people already use it, and all that money (at least in the US) is going straight to drug cartels, who then use the money to buy stuff and shoot people in the face. If it were legalized and taxed, it would effectively starve many organized crime syndicates of a tremendous source of income. Plus, there's the fact that restricting something makes it more desirable. If it were legal, people would recognize it for the shit that it is, since it would no longer be rebellious or cool to do pot.

Well, legalize marijuana, and you take away a major drain on our resources, namely minor drug offenders doing prison time. In addition, making it legal will cause a reverse psychology effect; your average kid won't see it as "cool" anymore.

there's no "i use/have used it and think it should be illegal" option, which is what i'd pick.
I didn't think anyone would think that. Is it the thrill of the moment, knowing you can't do it? Haha okay I'll add it in.

I say legalize it.But have a buyers limit,so that one can only buy so much weed every week/month.Sure,some would just make others buy it for them. But it would still hold some people back from buying overdoses.

Make it legal, regulate it, gain tax revenue, reduce prison population. All good things.

What crime problems would legalizing marijuana solve?

I don't see aproblem with it. Smoking is already getting outlawed from public places and pot smokers already ahve to do it in hiding so... Yeah. It can't be worse than tobacco.

If it was easier to get, maybe people wouldn't kill each other over it. Just a thought, though.

you can't OD on marijuana. that's fundementally impossible.

Or you'd have to directly put the shit into your veins.

Seriously, a university did research on it and you're more likely to OD on water.
