Well folks, the Slim Jim commercials are back, and they're still terrible.

As a point of curiosity, who here *actually* eats Slim Jims on a semi-regular basis? I can't imagine that overpriced meat-sticks have much of a following...

I hate those fucking commercials in the videos on this site.

They aren't funny, clever or interesting, they're just annoying. Also, why slim jims? I mean really, this is a gaming site, can't they advertise something to do with oh, I don't know...gaming?!

Anyway, I had a slim jim once, and I wasn't impressed. It's like beef jerky for people whose teeth have fallen out.

Before the Pub Club was introduced, the side panels were overrun with those "Interactive advertisments." that are all the rage now for Febreeze, Mucinere-X and I do believe there was one commercial for freecreditreport.com

Advertisers don't always aim for where there target audience is, sometimes they just aim where a lot of people are going. In this case, every Wednesday, hundreds of thousands of people come here just to watch a yellow background with some stick figures and hear an Australian talk for 5-6 minutes. It only makes sense to follow the herd.

I used to like Slim Jims, but I haven't had any since those commercials. Every time I reach for one, I hear a squeaky, evil voice screech out "WWE CHAMPION!" and a part of me dies.

I haven't eaten a slim jim, but I do eat a Canadian Outdoors (or something like that,) brand preserved meat product. They're okay for once in a while and as a snack if I need food quickly.

I never really liked Slim Jims, always too greasy. I prefer regular beef jerky

Agreed, one of my brothers would buy them all the time when I was a kid, I haven't had one for probably 15 years and I don't care to again.

After seeing this thread, I went into the kitchen and grabbed one. While I am typing this, I am eating a Slim Jim. nom nom nom.

I am a fan, even though the commercials aren't the greatest. I'm just glad The Escapist gets some money for advertising them.

They are 30 seconds long, no? Get over it.

Those 30 seconds of watching two 12 year olds scream about ninjas and wrestlers makes me want to punch an infant.

Do you not have a way to control the volume on your computer? It's thirty seconds of just sitting there with muted speakers. Is that really so difficult for ya?

I much preferred those side panels. I use flash block, they they were never intrusive, unlike the stupid pre-video ads.

Well those ads generate the most profit and the Escapist has already put up the Pub Club as a way for people to bypass it (At there own expense might I add.) would you rather spend 30 seconds watching an advert, or paying x amount of money every year to actually watch the video?
