Which kind of Zombies are your favorites? Fast Zombies like in G.A. Romero's new movies and Left 4 Dead, or Slow Zombies like in G.A. Romero's old movies and Dead Rising?

Slow preferably, because then I can honestly believe them to be zombies over something infected with a super form of Rabies. What stops them from killing each other for that matter when they're infected with the Super Rabies...?

Slow. It builds more tension up those dramatic moments when a character dies like captain rhoades in Dawn of the Dead he showed his balls by telling the zombies to "choke on them" even while being ripped in half.

I personally like slow, but in real life they probably would feel no pain, therefore be able to run for all eternity...

Slow are good for messing with like in Dead Rising. Fast one are the scary ones.

I personally find fast zombies scarier. A horde of slow zombies can be scary, but I have a higher chance of outrunning them.

Slow zombies. They're scarier. What they lack in adrenaline pumping terror they far make up for in psychological fear, with their inevitabiliy and feeling of dread.

I like both
slow for the idea of the "endless horde"
Fast for those tense moment when people are running for the door

I recently read a book with slow zombies.

The catch?

The animals could be infected.
...
And still run.

An interesting mix of the two to say the least.

At one point the group is collecting supplies at a docking area, being slowly surrounded.

When someone does notice, they see they're at least a few hundred yards away and ignores them.

His face gets ripped off by a charging zombie tiger from the Detroit Zoo because of it.

I'm now a fan of the author because of this book.

I cant see slow getting too many brains
Fast just seem like they would be a threat because you cant out walk them

Both. The thing that makes Zombies such great enemies is that they are so versatile. I hope both continue to be used for a long time.

i prefer slow zombies, they are the ones with high resilience to everything.empty a clip into one only to have the horde continuously move forward slowly ,O.O, but its classically dramatic and when they get you finally then you taste all the sweeter when we eat your brains!

Definitely slow. The greatest aspect of the traditional zombie is that alone, it is almost comical - it's stupid, it falls over, it's easily incapacitated (but not necessarily defeated). However, complacency will bring out the best horror aspect in the traditional zombie - overwhelming numbers. Eventually they swarm and consume everything. An unstoppable force, an army that marches without end or fatigue. You develop a sense of claustrophobia as they slowly but surely crawl in to consume everything.

The problem i have with contemporary fast zombies is that it makes them more 'human'. This takes zombies out of the uncanny valley. They have human qualities. They move like they are alive. They may grunt jarbled words or phrases. They appear almost human, but not quite. This no longer makes them appear supernatural or unstoppable. Humans can bleed, humans can die. If i wanted to face off against humans, i'd play a terrorist game or i'd watch a CSI flick, if you can get what i mean.
