The crafty teenager and the strict parental unit-- an age-old drama. My sister and I, growing up with a father with ears like a wolf and a sixth-sense for detecting mischief, developed a complex system for house-extraction involving decoys, alibis, distractions and, on one occasion, a home-made trampoline that could be hidden under the porch.

Escapists of all ages: have you ever slipped out of your house in direct defiance of your parent/spouse/parole officer 's rules? How did you manage it? Ever been caught?

No. I don't live anywhere interesting that's within walking distance. I live on the edge of the woods, and it would take me 2 hours or more to walk to the convenience store that is a 10 minute drive.

I've never had to. By the time I gained friends that went out a lot at night, I was old enough that as long as I could get a ride and gave a phone call if I was going to be out really late, I could do whatever as long as it was legal.

I've never had to sneak out of the house.
My parents never particularly cared where I was going, as I was out until around 2-3 in the morning every day.

Nope, never had to since my parents want me to go out more but, there is no point going out with my friends during the day because they end up leaving early at night well, we are probably at risk of getting stabbed:|

Nope, I've never done that. I'm something of a homebody though, so I don't generally associate "leave the house" with "have insane amounts of fun" - quite the opposite.

Now that I'm free to go wherever I please, I still stay mostly at home when I have free time. I make token social appearances every now and again but I would much rather be home where I could be having fun (yay computers).

I only sneak out when I know the chances of being caught are slim, like last year when I went to my girlfriends house at midnight during December after a party at my house

I never had to. I kind of was allowed free reign as to when and where I went. I never went anywhere, but that's beside the point.

Good thing my sisters a huge fuckup with a DUI and curfew violations at 17; now I have my own car and I can do whatever I want! (Provided I don't get caught)

Yes, and it was suprisingly easy. Well, maybe not suprisingly, both of my parents are heavy sleepers, but easy nonetheless. And I only snuck out because the school I lived across from, as a whole, was being shitty to my now ex-girlfriend, so I saw fit to deface private property with crass language. I later told my mom out of guilt, but she understood, as she also thought the school was shitty.
