World War II; lone sniper infiltrates Berlin for some missions; third-person shooter with FPS realistic sniping mechanics.
There, I tried it. I apparently didn't use the hardcore mode for the first playthrough, but I'll go back to it today, even though:
- Third-person is not much fun in that kind of game
- Movement is clunky as hell
- Animations are terrible
- Cover mechanics are unreliable
- Textures are awful
-AI is unpredictable Enemy soldiers can be omniscient or braindead, depending on the situation. They sometimes move from cover to cover back and forth until you shoot them or just know exactly where you are for no apparent reason.
But, as I've seen, it's closer to a hardcore shooter than most games and the occasional slow-mo kill cam that shows eyeballs, nuts, bones or organs burst thanks to your gunning skills is very satisfying. There's no way in hell I'd pay 50$ for it, though. Many 15$ games are more polished than this nowadays. Looks like a wonky port from 2005. Does anyone know if the campaign is supposed to be long?
