Look it's a fairly simple question, he's dead now, so do you think it changes anything? If it does, why? and if not, why?
Also, do you think it actually changes anything for the families of the people who died in 9/11?
So please give your insight on this situation.

Im glad he's gone but removing one man? Not going to suddenly change everything, heck, might make things worse, give them a martyr, ect. If anything this is just a symbolic victory. we've removed the man that was essentially the face of modern terrorism, which is a huge morale boost, butit's not like we cut the head off the snake. IMO, of course.

Honestly? No. The families of those dead might feel better inside, but in the long run, I think that Osama's death won't change anything. As a matter of fact, it may even make things worse. Anyone who thinks the war on terror is over, or even coming to an end, is very naive indeed. The war on terror is a war that can never be won.

Families of people lost in the 9/11 attacks will probably feel that justice has been done, as will a majority of Americans. As a Brit, I probably don't care as much as anyone on either side of the conflict.

He allegedly generated three isolated attacks...Nearly a decade ago.
After 2010, I don't think even the American people remembered this and now about a fourth of the way through this year we rejoice as if this was a lengthy and costly battle with the man when in reality we took a good guess of where he was living, swooped in, shot him in the head, killed his son, and captured two of his wives.

I don`t think this changes anything, from the looks of it he wasnt even running things anymore, hopefully this hurts his companions morale or it just pissed them off.

My view 5,921 US soldiers dead, 42,673 wounded, 1.26 trillion dollars, 10s of thousands of civilians killed. It's all good though cause we got one dude who was a symbolic head of an terror organization, and instilled a corrupt islamic pseudo democracy. Not like there was a better strategy out there....

I'm having a hard time giving a shit, yeah I'm happy that the families that were affected got their justice, but other than that? Not so much. Oh good we killed one guy that's been evading everyone for the past decade or so, good for you.

I forget if this is the second or third poll I've seen on this subject within the last 12 hours.

Of course there wasn't, when us Americans want someone dead, we want them dead, costs be damned!

That was running in the back of my mind when I heard he was dead, all that for one dead guy.

No, not really, but I've still posted the same picture in three threads about Osama now. It's a good thing that he's gone, but there are other terrorists alive still

Great hundreds of billions down the toilet, PMC's and Arms dealers sitting on piles of money, troops killed on all sides, middle eastern people persecuted world wide all because bush decided to not let a non American country prosecute and trial him. Whoo-hoo.

not to mention Iraq after the terrorism tirade

It's fantastic that he's dead, but we've got to stop these fucking threads.

My answer to that question depends entirely on the answer to this one. Is it considered the cool and edgy thing to proclaim that you don't give two shits, and then proceed to act like that somehow makes you a superior person to the rest of the interwebz?

All joking aside, I'm a bit "meh". Last night I thought it was pretty cool to hear they got him, then watch the speech from Obama. Had more of a "getting to watch history unfold" appeal to me because in my mind even though he's dead someone else is probably just going to step up and take his place.

Rule #1 for fighting evil: If you kill X unspeakable evil there's an even worse one waiting in the wings to take it's place.
