Poll: So do any of you think Duke Nukem will actually be any good?

So I'm grabbing it whether or not it is good, so I was wondering what the opinions of the public are, seeing how the original Duke Nukem 3D was actually pretty good for a game of its time, Do you think the current developers can hold up to the legend.

The only way DNF could suck at this point would be if the studio buckles under the pressure from parents groups and Jack Thompson wannabes, and removes the parts of Duke that we all know and love.

EDIT: Or if the somehow the project isn't yanked back and canceled again in the biggest ****tease in gaming history...

I guess it's going to be an okay Third Person Shooter with a few fun mechanics, wacky humor and not much replay value. Nothing special but... alright.

I'm expecting this to be the most fun game (Not good, fun. Because people seem to equivalate (Yep) good with the CoD series). To hell with stupidly complicated plots, or this gritty realism people seem to jerk over. This will be balls to the walls profane, sexist, manly, and carrying more than three weapons. In fact, if I'm right, this will be the first FPS in a LOOOOOONG time that has had the ability to carry arpund more than two maion weapons. I miss using my pistol, then shotgun, then assault rifle, then chain gun, then 'I make you small and crush you!" laser!

I think it will be a pretty standard retro FPS affair, but since that's all most - including myself - will really want from it, it'll probably be good enough.

Honestly I think due to the amount of attention DNF has had, people are expecting it to be amazing, and to be perfectly honest, I will be surprised if it is anything more then an average FPS. Regardless of the games final product, I still think people will say they expected more. Just my opinion though, I'll stand up and admit I'm wrong if it suddenly becomes more popular then jesus

I think it's going to be good, but I picked no as I hate that "hail to the king, baby" thing. While I do think it'll be good, I highly doubt it'll be great, but it will be a bit of fun from what I've seen. I just worry it'll be too childish for my taste. I hate stupid comedy, so I think I'll not like parts others may love.

All their hype generators are focused around "oh look, its coming!", instead of "look, its good!". When a project lead comes out and says "review scores won't matter, people will still buy it", you should start worrying.

Somehow I doubt it. The humor just looks stupid and immature, if I want a funny game I'll play Psychonauts. The gameplay looks like it might be fun so it may be okay as a fun shooter goes but so far I see nothing in it that would inspire me to believe that it's going to be the God Game Yahtzee joked about.
It'll just be a first person shooter with some frenetic action and stupid boob jokes, it probably won't be worth the twelve year wait.

Plus, I'm actually one of those people who took umbrage with the whole 'Capture the Babe' thing. Call me old fashioned but I think it's very immature and stupidly sexist, and not in a clever satirical way either, to have there be a gametype dedicated to making women into single purpose objects who get carted around from side to side for points and of whom you slap on the ass if they start getting hysterical to calm them down.
I don't have any problem with women getting riled up about it. I don't think it'll inspire mass violence against women or encourage sexism but it's also incredibly stupid and immature and doesn't do a lot to paint the industry in a respectful light.
Also it's not being boldly immature and sexist in a challenging or satirically clever way, it's just BEING sexist for the sake of laughs. Idiocy for the sake of idiocy is just not worth defending, in my opinion anyway.

As it stands though, I might play it one day and I won't begrudge people for liking it or for having fun with it just because I have no interest in it. But it really doesn't look like something I'd be interested in.

I was sold when I saw the trailer. If you are expecting DNF to be the best game ever, you're an idiot. It's going to be a fun, ridiculous, and over-the-top FPS, remember when FPSs were actually fun? Screw all the realistic military FPSs like COD, DNF is what FPSs are supposed to be unless you are actually doing a realistic FPS like Counterstrike (COD is a dumbed down, arcade-y wannabe realistic shooter) or something actually serious and meaningful like a Bioshock or Dues Ex.
