...and you come to Michael, the Gatekeeper, Thanatos, the Reaper, the Great Command Line in the Sky, whatever. You're thinking, "Great, now I get to go to Heaven, or at least see what the afterlife is really like."

But the angel/god/construct/anthropomorphic personification says to you, "Hold on, not so fast. You don't qualify for the afterlife yet. The whole life you just went through is just one of multiple lives you will live, multiple worlds you will inhabit, before your soul ends up in its final destination."

He goes on to say that he's about to plop you down into your next life, which may be radically different from your one on Earth. No, he won't say how many lives you'll have, or what their nature will be. He'll only say that they tend to last about the same amount of time (i.e., up to ~100 years, more likely ~75, assuming you don't get yourself killed).

Oh yeah, and there's one more thing: You get to choose your class.

This is something of a philosophical question. The "best" choice can't be known because you don't know the specifics of the world you're going into. All you can determine is what's most likely the best choice for you--based on what you've learned in this world.

I love the idea of having reign over Magic. Being able to kill things with fire spells when they get in my way doesn't hurt.

I choose being a rogue, for no other reason than that you get to go around and steal shit.

(I choose to believe that this afterlife is less of a WoW life, and more of just a fantasy medieval setting, in which Rogues don't have to fight all the time.)

Also, I wholly endorse this view of the afterlife, and would suggest that you have to live your life through the major genres of gaming and fiction, in which case, which ones would you not want to go through?

The sport one. Or maybe the MMORPG, depending on what the subscription fees are.

Why would any-one choose warrior? you would run up to a mage with a sword, and he would burn, blow up,freeze, electricute, petrify and generally destroy you in almost any way so i would always choose mage

Wait, I know this already that I won't get into 'heaven'.
All the times I exist, I exist only to serve.
Still, funny that it is said non-seriously here...
anyway, class...
Out of those choices, probably rouge.
Stealth is my most effective weapon to complete my master's orders.

Thief, sorry, can't help myself. Always did, always will be.

I just like smooth talking my way out of sticky situations, snipe an archer from far far away, stabbing a poisoned dagger into an unsuspecting guard and leave the scene with all the valuables without anyone noticing me.

Mage, requires brainpower, plus I'm more of a ranged fighter anyway so I can always run away easily from a fight...

Rogue: It just fits my personality better than the others.

If at all posible i would be a Rogue mage hybrid with chamelion spells and dex buffs.

I would be a paladin of the WoW kind. Critically wounded you say? Watch me bubble and spam heals on myself! (former rogue who is still bitter towards anyone who played a ret pali >_>)
