Poll: So which Escapists have PlayStation 3's?

I really need to know because I'm still deciding on getting and Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3 and they both seem to be just as good as one another, apart from the games that are exclusively built for one of them. So the two tie breakers are how many people play online and what games are exclusively built that I like.

So Escapist how many of you play PlayStation 3's online? Do enough people play online so that I could play a less popular game and still get enjoyment out of online multi player? What kind of game are exclusively built for PlayStation 3?

Please feel free to add information I haven't asked for, like how good are PlayStation 3's graphics because I still have to reassure myself on a few factors about the PlayStation 3.

P.S. I haven't looked into the games exclusively for PlayStation 3, I only know of two that I want which are MAG and Siren Blood Curse.

P.P.S. I hear that almost all of the Xbox 360's exclusives come out on the computer (excluding Halo and a few others) while the PlayStation 3's don't is this true?

EDIT: Heavy Rain looks good and it is for PS3. Also I probably will pick myself up a copy of Black Ops sooner or later and I'm sure the online will be great with that.

I own a PC and a 360 out of those. I sometimes borrow a Playstation 3, and I recommend it if you're an online player, because XBL is expensive.

XBox Live is pricey, and I've always preferred the games on PS3. I say just get whichever has more exclusive titles that you enjoy. Both have large enough bases that you shouldn't run into much problems with under-filled online multiplayer unless you're playing a very little known game.

I've had a PS3 for a good year now and I must say that it's pretty awesome. I have no regrets of purchasing it over an Xbox 360. It's especially great if you like to play online with people without paying a decent amount of money for it.

I play on th PS3 and love it. The only reason I would get a 360 is for Mass Effect but that problem is being solved.

Thats where I disagree with you.

If you are an online guy, go for Xbox 360. Sure, its pricey, but it is a much greater online experience(you know... minus the screaming 10 year olds).

PS3 is for single player people, much more large single player titles (Resistance, God of War, Uncharted)

all i have is a Wii (and so far i'm the only person that uses one) as it has most of the games i want to play. i would get a 360 but i have a few games on the GameCube/Wii i want to do/redo so i i got a 360 it would sit there for ages for the mean time while i do other games

360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP owner here.

Never will join the PC gamers, since Japan fucking hates putting games on the PC, it seems.

I use 'em both equally, for the most part.

360 for online and party chat, PS3 for single player...

I'm using my PS3 more for now, since my 360 is offline.

For the game selection...

The 360 does have the advantage in terms of demos, since every Xbox Live Arcade game has one.

With the PS3, a lot of downloadable games are a roll of the D20.

Okay lets just say that everything you said was true excluding the PS3 being an overpriced DVD player. The PS3 is far cheaper online so within a year I would have not have spent so much money for the online features as I would with the Xbox 360, so the PS3 is actually cheaper. Almost every single Xbox 360 exclusive comes out on the computer and I have been PC gaming for about 2 or more years so I'm not worried about missing a game on the Xbox.

PS: The Xbox has better support? If you mean the online community than that is just shameful.

While the PS3 only plays PS3 games(unless you were lucky enough to get one of the first two waves), It does play blu-ray discs. Big whoop. Not a huge selling point, but one enough.

The online access is free. I say online access because not only do you get free multiplayer, but...

The PS3 has a browser. You don't need to install windows or linux on it to browse the internet at least. I use my browser all the time when I'm watching a movie or gaming. Of course...

Most of my movies are digital copies, and the nice thing about a PS3 is that it plays digital copies. You can rent movies online, if you so choose(I think it's netflix or one of their competetors. Anyway). You can install music and movies right to the harddrice and operate it like any computer would. Some of the codecs are a little buggy, but if you put in the effort anything eill work.

So the only real reason I see in getting an xbox is for the exclusives. If you want to play Halo, get an xbox. If you don't care about Halo, don't give it a second look. Get a PS3. It's twice the price, but I promise you'll keep it twice as long. And who knows, maybe someday they'll give us a downloadable emulator to bring back the backwards compatability.

Coming from the point of view of someone who already owns a gaming PC, the 360 has virtually no games games whatsoever - I wish I'd bought a PS3 as my back up platform now.

I should be getting one some time near the start of this year though.

Isn't this a little bit biased by asking users if they have a ps3 in the title then in the OP asking what console people own?

OT: I have a ps3 but I find the console exclusives almost laughably bad in comparison to the 360's with huge gaping flaws in each exclusive (and most ps3 owners are more than prepared to overlook). Granted most 360 games also have many flaws but I've never found them to be game breaking

I am starting to play more on my laptop with Fallout 3, Age of Empires 3, Unreal Tournament 2004, Blood Bowl, Bejewelled and Dawn of War. However I still find there to be many annoying features in pc gaming but quite a lot of benefits to redeem

Those are just the ones off the top of my head, I'm sure there are many more and many of these are far more appealing to a lot of gamers than games similar; to tomb raider, devil may cry, all other grey fps's and prototype

I'm not going to bash the 360, I didn't consider buying one because I just wanted a PS3.
