Poll: So you want to design games...

Stella Q's poll revealed that designing games is the secret desire of the majority of us. You've been picked up by a major software company and are sitting in the boardroom pitching ideas back and forth, what does it say you do on your business card?

Advertising. Its easy to get fired if you make a shit game but all you need to do is put a trailer on TV and your golden.

On WoE I work on all but programming. I'm guessing I'm not awesome at everything. Art work is probably the first thing I'd cut, many people do it better, even if I'd still want to have a hand in the design and style. Writing is what I have the most experience, so I guess that'd be part of it. Advertising is what I was taught at school, and something I find fun. Hunting talents and manage stuff is what I do the most, and what I feel most comfortable doing, so I guess I'm a bit of a jack-of-all trades. I'd love to work as a team lead, supervisor, chipping in where needed, and always have final say, since I'm such a perfectionist.

I'm a mix of programming, management, and writing. Probably programming though, since most every game idea I have is already done in some form or another at least once elsewhere.

That doesn't have to mean anything. As long as you bring enough of a fresh breeze into it, and bring some new twists it's going to be interesting.

Writing and New Techniques. I've actually got one I'm designing in my spare time that uses an interesting AI (because, even though it's a RPG, it has strong interpersonal interaction elements); and I can create decent characters as far as writing goes.

Can't allways get the first, but here in OZ we have a shortage of the other. Come to think of it we have a shortage of all kinds of workforce!
