So yeah apparently this is a thing: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2016/08/03/suicide-squad-rotten-tomatoes/88037494/
The Rotten Tomatoes score sits at just 26% for professional critics [https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/suicide_squad_2016/], while the Metacritic score sits at 41. [http://www.metacritic.com/movie/suicide-squad] Audiences seem to like the movie better giving respective scores of 74% at Rotten Tomatoes, and 6.9 average score at Metacritic.
Still the weird thing is that fans are targeting Rotten Tomatoes, accusing them of writing biased reviews... Which is dumb because Rotten Tomatoes just hosts reviews, they don't actually write them. This is one of the few times I can actually honestly say that this is censorship, at least on the broad scale. Also the petition is really badly written... The fact that it garnered international news attention is absolutely shocking. Also over 19,000 people have signed the petition at time of posting here.
Is it really such horrible thing that a lot of critics hate what you like? I am getting so sick of this "how dare you hate what I like" and "how dare you like what I hate" culture the internet has incubated.
Here's the petition if you want a good laugh: https://www.change.org/p/don-t-listen-to-film-criticism
