Poll: Super Mario Bros Movie.

I was bored, and feeling nostalgic so I decided to hook up the old VHS player and see what I had, after viewing some old recorded episodes of Ren and Stimpy, and some classic episodes of the simpsons I stumbled upon something I hadn't seen in ages..THE SUPER FREAKING MARIO BROS MOVIE! I could not beleive it...When I was a little kid I loved the movie and watched it whenever I got bored, and after watching it again it occured to me how much of a dumbass my younger self was, WTF was I thinking! I could go on listing the things wrong with it,Bowser's a T-Rex, the goomba's have bodies, there are friggin cars, koopa coins,etc. Anyone out there remember this movie? what do you think of it after all this time? Did you love it as a kid as I did? Let me know.

Like the live-action Street Fighter movie, this one is so bad that it's good. I remember liking the movie, but I was 8 at the time, so what did I know.

Awesome movie. I loved how the movie producers tried to make a logical world where Super Mario's cute, none-sense plot line could actually exist and it turned out to be a terrible place where lizard people enslaved the human race and Yoshi is a god damn Raptor.


So far I am convinced that the Mortal Kombat movie is the best game movie ever.

It's like, poetry to me. I also like how in the second one *spoiler alert* Johnny Cage, a major character in the first, dies like an after thought by the hands of Shang Tsung in the first five minutes.

I think I've only watched that movie once...but I was completely addicted to "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" starring Captain Lou Albano.

How else could it be described? Set in the '80's apocolyptic world, based on a video game, and horrible dialogue. It's everything that makes bad movies good.

I liked it. Though Mortal Kombat also remains my favorite VG movie.........though Annhialation was a nice steamy plate of suck in my opinion

Yep, like Mortal Kombat it's the good kind of camp. I guess giving Koopas and Yoshis a connection to dinosaurs is one way to explain them in 'real-life'. Strangely I always remember the simple ditty that plays when Luigi and Mario are escaping from the prison despite having watched it like 8 years ago, if that. And how surly Mario came across as. And how after Iggy and Spike are granted super-intelligence, they switch sides and call King Koopa 'facist' and 'oppressor of the proletariat'. Of course I didn't know what 'the proletariat' meant back then. It's weird, the things you remember...

Still better than anything Uwe Boll churns out, or Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

This thread made me go on Play.com and order a copy of the movie on DVD.

I watched it years ago and thought it was completely terrible, in a hilarious way. I hope it's just as bad now. ;D

I have recently re-watched the stupid thing, finding an old VHS copy of it, and it is as bad as I remember. The whole thing with the lizards, Bowser looking retarded, the metal shoe contraption that explains why they jump so high.....horrendous.

I like this movie, partially for nostalgia, and also because of a comment someone else made above about how it's good for how bad it is; much like the old 60's Batman series/movie.

The special effects were bad.

The characters played their roles horribly. But...

IT WAS A FRIGGIN' MARIO BROTHERS MOVIE!!!!

I saw it as a child, and loved it, geniunely. I didn't really have any prior knowledge of acting at that time, but I did love Mario Bros. The movie's achieved cult status, and it's earned it. Best game --> movie adaptation ever.
