Poll: The abbreviation MW2

So I read through the forums, and the abbreviation MW2 catches my eye every time. Maybe I'm hopeful someone else loved MechWarrior as much as I did, maybe I'm hoping they know something I didn't about the game I loved... And then my hopes are dashed as I realize that they aren't referring to MechWarrior 2 at all, but Call of Duty. It makes me want to cry every time. So am I the only one who still thinks about this game?

(If you don't think MechWarrior 2 was awesome, you must not have played the Ati Rage edition. It was sweet. I can't tell you how much fun it was humiliating opponents in the trial of grievance mode.)

While I am familiar with Mechwarrior, I associate the abbreviation MW with Modern Warfare, for several reasons.
1) It's the game I play most recently.
2) It's currently the bigger name of the two.
3) I haven't played a Mechwarrior for over 7 years, at least.
4) I've moved away from computer gaming (never had a very serious rig in the first place) and have been slow to get back in.

I can understand how this occurring can be a disappointment, however; even moreso should one be of the persuasion that the CoD franchise is overhyped and bland. While I am not, I do know that there are people who dislike it. All I can hope is that these people are not so bitter to begrudge me my enjoyment, since I will not begrudge them.

I'm sure that more people have heard of it, just no one associates it with MW2 for obvious reasons.

Modern Warfare 2, and for the record I almost put MW2 through association just now. It's probably due to the difference, or rather is due to the difference, in popularity between the two; MW2 was one of the biggest releases in gaming history, whilst relatively few people even know what MechWarrior is.

I played MechWarrior 2 back in the day and had a lot of fun with it. Sadly these days I know that when people say MW2 they are thinking of Cash in of Duty, so that's what I instantly see.

Slighyly off topic is a pet peeve of mine when I hear (or see) people say MewTwo in reference to it. THAT SHITS ME.

I always think of Mechwarrior 2 as well. I've been playing video games a long fucking time and for about a decade MW2 referred to Mechwarrior 2, and it's hard for me to think of it otherwise. Modern Warfare 2 is COD:MW2 to me.

Basically, this.
CoD seems far more popular than MechWarrior 2 (whatever that is) so it makes sense that most people will use MW2 for Modern Warfare 2, rather than the alternative.
