Playing SF at the moment, hes arguing with me that Zangief is miles better than Ryu just because he is a higher tier character in pro rankings, even though i cannot play Zangief at all. I think in my opinion that Ryu is a much better character! My opinion though.

What is your best character in SFIV?

EDIT* Sorry couldn't fit all characters in the poll, so just took the higher ranking characters on the pro rink. If you disagree leave a post.

Ryu without a doubt.

He is very easy to learn and extremely good once you have mastered him.

Also he is ranked 2 for a reason.

I voted 'cammy' because you didn't include my favorite (Juri, one of the new characters in SSFIV...I don't generally like the SF cast) and she's my seond favorite

Zangief, to the point I think he's cheap. His joystick throw-combos don't even seem to make sense, but either way, anyone who can do them can just grab anyone from across the level...

Cammy, quick as hell and has some awesome moves, like her ex move that allows her to fly at the opponent and either grapple or trip with a low attack. She's also perfect for feinting, i.e. charging a focus attack while the opponent is downed then cancelling into a back step at the last second. You have no idea how many times I've made someone think using an ultra was the best thing to do when in fact it was the worst thing they could have done.

I thought maybe alot of people would vote for cammy.
Well it actually requires talent to use her, not like all the Ryu, Sagat and Akuma scrubs out there. That's not to say they all people who use them are cheap, by no means, but those particular characters are broken as hell.

It doesn't take skill at all to play Cammy it's actually quite far on the other side of the spectrum i mean

hadoken = spiral arrow and shouryken = cannon spike.

Easy.

You can't spiral arrow through a projectile unless it's an ex move.

Ok, unless you have psychic abilites, saying what to do against certain moves then actually predicting when the opponent is going to use them are two different matters. E.g. WW2 would never have happened if some went back in time and killed Hitler's mother before she became pregnant with him. See how easy that was?

Depends what character you are facing, if your against a shotokan character then there is a high possiblity of having projectiles throw at you. Even then depending how close you are to the other opponent if they throw a projectile, you should have time to pull of the ex move.

My best characters are El Fuerte and Zangief, mostly because I grew up a wrestling fan and still have a weakness for wrestling-based characters.

Dan.

The look on anybody's face when you give them that winning smile and the thumbs up after utterly schooling them is worth a thousand shoryukens
