I always sit through the credits after I've finished a game. I find it's a nice time to reflect for a few minutes on the game as a whole and what it did well or what it did poorly.

Most of the time games just have a black screen crawl of all the names that helped in the production. However a select few games go above and beyond and have animations or gameplay as accompaniment.

Some good ones that I can think of are Mario RPG and Paper Mario that both have little parades of all the characters in the games on floats and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. However, I would have to say that the best credits sequence would belong to the Smash Bros. series which turned the credits into a little shooter minigame. This was great thinking as these are games where you are likely to see the credits quite a few times in a short period of time.

So what game do you think has the best end game credit sequence?

Tales From the Borderlands has a pretty amazing credit scene. I'll spoiler it so people don't get mad.

Upon skipping the credits, a message comes up saying TellTale games will remember that. Funniest thing I've seen in a video game for while.

OctoDad's intro credits is pretty awesome as well. Dat music!

And to answer the poll, never. Well, I never pay attention. I do sit through them for Assassin's Creed games as well as Halo 2. Cause they're assholes and either throw something in right after them or during them. I'm usually doing something else, but I still let them run.

No matter how boring you make the credits look, you can always save it by adding an awesome song.

The Portal series and Bastion. (Granted the credits themselves looked interesting but you get the idea.)

Only if it is has something interesting

The only game credits that I remember sitting through entirely without doing something else was with Vanquish.

Always. I think I had one experience in which, in skipping the credits, I also skipped a bonus scene or something. So I always let them run their natural course until a post-credits scene plays, or I'm prompted to save the game, or I'm just sent back to the main menu.

I usually don't sit through the credits, though there was a period where I forced myself to sit through the credits of most games because Halo 3 actually stops you from watching the post-credits cutscene if you skip it. Thank Christ that they just cut out the credits in the MCC (even if the music is beautiful).

My obligatory favourite credits is Portal, more so than Portal 2 but I do love Portal 2's credit sequence. Sorry to be boring :)

I try to most of the time but sometimes I give up. Certainly if there's something to watch during the credits it makes it much more interesting and I will almost definately watch all of it. I'll sit though the standard rolling credits.. for a while, say about 10 minutes but some of them seem to be a bit half an hour and I'm just not going to sit there that long. I'll disappear and go do something else and check up from time to time until it's ending and see if there's anything post-credits.

I agree that the Portal games and Ocarina of Time had more interesting credits and I remeber smashing the scrolling letters through Rayman Legends credits. I hope more games developers come up with interesting credits in future especially as they seem to be growing ever longer.

Yeah, I usually watch the credits, it gives me a chance to absorb everything after a hectic ending sequence. Or sometimes you get a scene in the middle or at the end that you might miss if you skip. I especially love the dance off at the end of Saints Row 4 and the fact that they gave a nice send off to Michael Clarke Duncan during the credits.

I always sit through them if I can't skip them, just to make sure there's nothing afterwards. Otherwise I would get up and make a "Congratulations Me for beating the game sandwich", but in games like Punch-Out for the Wii or (was it a Star-Fox game where you could shoot the names?) I'll play along. Also if I have a hunch about a voice actor or if I know I'll see a name I'll recognize I'll pay attention to that bit.

It's also sometimes very interesting to see special thanks.

Yeah, I'll watch the credits most of the time.

Fuck Ubisoft credits though. Soon enough they will hit a point where I can watch a feature film in the time it takes for the credits to go by.

Portal 1 and 2 had good end credits which I sat through, if it's just a black screen with writing I won't bother but if it's interesting (or better yet funny) then it's got me.

Usually, no. Unless there is something to watch during the credits or at the end, I usually just skip/leave. Longest credits that I have sat through in recent memory are the ones at the end of Halo: CEA (I believe that is the best part of around 7-8 minutes?). That game does everybody. Bungie, 343, Gearbox (PC port for original game), Saber Interactive, Certain Affinity, localisation teams, just fucking everybody under the son that has ever even mentioned the word "Halo", "Combat" or "Evolved" in their lifetimes. And I waited through it all. Why? Just so that I could watch a 30 second or so clip at the end. *sigh*

Unless there is something going on then I will usually try to skip them or go and do something else while the credits roll. Usually if you skip the credits, it will show the after credits scene anyway. But unless I want to know something, like a voice actor, I will usually try to skip the credits.

Yep, I watch the credits pretty much every time. I like to think of it as a way to acknowledge the efforts of all the people that worked on the game. Depending on the game, it can also be a good way to unwind and reflect after the grand finale. I make a little game out of trying to find people with the same name as me (or if it's Japanese, try to find all the crazy nicknames they put in there, like "Road Zapper").

I always sit through the credits because during them I think about the ending of the game. Plus, there's a possibility of post-credit content, so there's also that.

Depends how satisfied the ending of the game left me. If I'm very satisfied I'll sit and watch the whole thing while thinking about how much I enjoyed that game.

Most of the time though I just leave them running in the background while I do something else. I do glance back at them every once in a while, but that is just to look for hidden stuff.

I always sit through the credits.

The only time I didn't was for Assassin's Creed III. I got up after 15 minutes and I went to the bathroom, did some laundry, got myself a drink, and when I came back they were still rolling. I am not making that up. Shit went on FOREVER.

Other than that, I stick through. I always want to hear the music and see if I recognize any voice actors.

I only skip or ignore if it's not my first playthrough. Games like Borderlands has a game to get back into once the credits are over.
