So the Fall Shooter war has started; the question is - which side do you want to take?

There is Battlefield 1, the next BF game travelling back in the past to give us the "War to End All Wars". Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - IE: The Most Disliked Reveal in History and the One No One Wanted. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster - IE: The One Everyone Really Wants, but is held hostage by having to buy IW in order to get it. Gears of War 4 which just came out and so far has been fairing pretty well in reviews, and still has chainsaws attached to guns. And finally Titanfall 2 - or "We proved the idea could work the first time, so here is the real full thing this time around".

Personally - I'm going for TF2. I tried both the Closed Alpha and Open Beta of BF1 and was not impressed at all. IW just draws a hearty chuckle from me thinking about it, and I'm not paying $80 just to get MWR. Gears 4 is a possibility, but I'm not keen on the micros-transactions thing they got going on there.

But TF2 I played and was fun, and I really liked the first one so I'm hoping the full-fledged one is even better.

Battlefield 1 because DICE really never made a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD game despite what people say otherwise. The worse I can say about games like Hardline is that it was rather bland, like it was the Gears of War Judgment of the series. And i really want to play Star Wars Battlefront.

I don't know if my rig could handle Battlefield 1 and Battlefront on Ultra settings though (I have a GTX 970) and I don't want to play it on consoles.

Battlefront you can definitely play on Ultra with a GTX 970 without any problems. You'd only run into performance issues if you wanted to play at 1440p or higher at ultra with a locked 60FPS. Not sure about Battlefield 1, I didn't play the Beta so I don't have much of an idea of exactly how demanding it is.

Throw my vote into Titanfall 2 ring. Admittedly I have a soft-spot for mechs, especially those that display a sense of speed or fluidity in their motions. The pilots seem to be highly mobile and the faster pace seems intriguing. And there's a single player campaign, so I hope that turns out to be decent. :)

As for the rest, well, the last Call of Duty that I truly enjoyed was World at War. I actually prefer it over Modern Warfare just for inclusion of non-scoped bolt-action rifles. (So satisfying to master). After giving Black Ops 2 a whirl, it didn't take long before I was bored with the multiplayer -- the tactics, players and feel hadn't changed all that. Despite being one of the more later iterations in the series. So I stopped completely there.

I'm put off Gears of War 4's ridiculous download size. That aside, I just don't have anyone readily available to hop in for some good ol' co-op fun. So I'll skip it. Never found the plot or characters to be any sort of draw anyway.

So yeah, I'll wait for reviews. But if I had to pick from that list then Titanfall 2 looks the most appealing.
(Although I just recently played Doom 2016 for the first time and woo-boy. That was a tremendously fun romp. So I've gotten my shooter fill this year.)

I would say probably Titanfall 2. The first one had potential, but was held back by a bare bones feature set. Funnily enough its actually the campaign that I am most interested in.

Any other time I would probably go for BF1 but I just can't get excited for whatever reason. Despite doing a lot of things I like, the changes to conquest, the 'special' classes, the behemoths, put me off of it. Yet at the same time it doesn'et feel like that is the only reason for me, but I can quite put my finger on why.

I was willing to get into CoD again before it turned into the same thrusty, sliding, operator nonsense of the last few games, also watching 20 minutes of gameplay with that awful motion blur it fucked up my eyesite for like an hour. I would just jump back into CoD 4 remaster for some boots on the ground CoD, but its being held hostage by Infinite Warfare.

Given that I have sold my Xbone and have no interest in getting windows 10 any time soon that's rules Gears 4 out. Even I did have win 10 I have not had a good experience with the MS owned exclusives given the fact that 343 killed my love for Halo. I have no desire to jump in to see if the same thing happens to gears fans.

Sadly no a lot jumping out at me for shooters this fall.

Titanfall 2. It has Mechs. It wins.

I'm going to wait and see some reviews first, but that's probably what I'll end up buying.

The stupidity of the gaming masses is on full display with the Modern Warfare remaster. Years of people moaning about CoD being samey and now those very same people are moaning that they can't play a re release of the original that started it all. Nostalgia goggles are a powerful thing.

Of those games - none really interest me at the moment. I don't have much time to play nowadays so when I do it's almost always co-op fun with friends that don't particularly enjoy military shooters.

While I agree with the reasoning in principle, I feel it necessary to point out that as a multiplayer online title, TitanFall 2 can only get the consolation prize. Because come on. 6 months after release it'll be as popular and worthwhile as Titanfall 1 is now.

None of them. Titanfall 2 is the only one even remotely interesting for me. Definitely not interesting enough to buy though.

None. DOOM 2016 stole the show months ago, and nothing is going to top it.

I would have gone with Battlefield 1...until it was revealed that gameplay would be no different from the other games, just with a WW1 coat of paint. They could have at least made the focus on bolt-action rifles or something, but no. Same old run n' gun with automatics and race car tanks.

On a related note, I don't really get the hate for Infinite Warfare. Modern CoD has a running theme of ridiculous spectacle, so they may as well abandon all pretense at "realism" and go full space shooter.

Never cared for Gears. If I want a gritty dystopian setting with space marines weilding ridiculous chainsaws I'll turn to Warhammer 40,000.

TF2? You mean you haven't played it? The game's been out for nine years.

In all seriousness, it doesn't pique my interest. Which is weird, because I normally like big, stompy mechs as much as the next person, and it is nice to see an actual campaign this time around.

The one I'm most interested in: Battlefield 1. I would love to play a game set in The Great War, especially since my country--the U.S.--didn't get heavily involved in it until way late. I want to see the war before the U.S. jumped in. It's just...Battlefield 3's campaign was so boring and bland, so I'm not exactly excited about this idea.

The one that will sell the best: Probably Infinite Warfare. For as much as people complain about being tired of it and it being played out, it always kills in sales. Throw in the fact that, despite people calling for a boycott, it has Modern Warfare attached to it, and it's going to dominate.

The best one: Modern Warfare. I mean, unless Battlefield 1 or Infinite Warfare turn out to be freaking amazing, Modern Warfare is the strongest out of all of them. Too bad it's locked behind another game.

Please note: I never played Titan Fall, as it didn't have single player. And Gears of War 3 was kind of a let down for me in terms of concluding the story, so I'm not chomping at the bit to pick it up again.

What? It's still shooting. Dank film y'all! 360 noscope hiding in a barrel from a baby killing cult as those sweet battery ammos drain your precious ninja vision away! My k/d streak will be ripping through the fabric of your space-time Christmas sweater!

"Modern CoD", which I classify as everything after MW3, happens to be the the part of CoD that most people are tired of. If this game came out right after MW3, I doubt people would be too angry. But after 4 years of consecutive sci-fi stuff, people are getting sick of the theme. I wouldn't say they are all the same, but when your franchise was built on being an authentic war game, space robots jumping around with flaming killer bees seem out of place.

OT: BF1 for me. IW is hilarious, and I am skipping both it and MWR on principle. TF2 was fun, but I just couldn't see me playing it as long as I have played the Battlefield games. Gears is available on all platforms I don't have, so yeah. On a sidenote, I think its really cool that I am interested and excited for the singleplayers. BF1 looks like it will at least be a graphical masterpiece, IW has some interesting ideas and certainly reminds me of the MW singleplayers, and TF2 has a campaign, period.

Anyway, I'm getting BF1 mainly because I have put nearly 400 hours into BF4, and I still enjoy it. This is due to all the gaming friends I have also playing BF4. We have a blast playing together. Instead of running around like headless chickens, we are organized. Squad leader chooses the objectives, Assault heals, Recon puts down spawn beacons and motion sensors, Support throws down ammo, Engineer blows everything away. When you get your whole squad at the top of the leaderboard with great stats, its an amazing feeling. With BF1's push towards team play, I'm excited for what me and my friends will be able to do when the game comes out.

Buying Battlefield 1. Played the beta, had a ton of fun.

Fuck the rest.

I haven't been interested in Call of Duty for the better part of a decade now. I was unimpressed by Modern Warfare and don't care about the remaster.

I bought the first Titanfall on sale a while back. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't anywhere near good either. The matches felt so small and empty. 6 vs 6 with a bunch of bots that nobody cares about? Mechanically boring titan fights? That can fuck off. Not paying anything remotely close to full price for a sequel.

Gears 4 actually looks okay, but I don't have an XBone and I'm not installing Windows 10. The general consensus from people whose views I respect seem to be that it's Gears of War: Another One. I think I can live without it.

I see some people mentioning Shadow Warrior 2. I had got some fun, albeit mild and overly repetitive fun, out of the first one and was vaguely curious about the sequel. Then I saw that some idiot had spilled the concentrated mediocrity that is Borderlands all over it. So that gets to fuck right off too.

PS. New Doom was very, very okay.

I'd guess BF will be the most successful - but if Activision see reason and change their minds at the last minute and allow the MW remaster to be sold separately, AND they don't fuck the MP, it could be the most enjoyable.

But that won't happen, and I'm not really interested in any of the others. Voted for BF btw.

The only one of those I'm gonna bother with is "Gears of War 4". Even the worst of this series - 3 - I thought was pretty good, so I can at least rely on it for a good time, which is much more than I can say for any of the others in the poll. Well, with the exception of MWR, but that'll be released as standalone eventually anyway.
