I recently came upon the idea of a gameshark. (I bought two)
At first i would only use it when I got completely stuck, But now i use it all the time.
Is this OK or should i not.
I cant help it either, any time i play a game I always subconciously put the gameshark in.
Can anyone help me with my morality dilemma or share stories that are the same.
(I only cheat offline)

*im glad you all hate me*
jk
*I also voted for that*

I don't really care for cheating or cheaters Just don't expect anything from cheating because your not really going to get anything.

On video games it hardly matters. Sure it sucks if you get somebody who exploits something they know to an unfair advantage on an online game, but if you're playing by yourself, it hardly matters. And if a game doesn't reward you if you use cheats, then its incentive to play through again w/out and get more play-time from the game.

Morally immoral.

Not really. There are only two times i would cheat in a game: 1)It's a rent, and want to beat it because i am not going to buy it, and 2) I already beat, and want to play it again, this time spectacularly owning everything in sight. The lord of the rings games had a system where you could only activate the cheats after you had played through once. I found it to be a wonderful addition.

EDIT: Online? no. please gtfo noob.

Don't cheat online against others it kills the fun, other than that I don't care.
Ninja'ed. But its true, as long as you cheat in the privacy of your own home, and without affecting anyone who really cares... But I get really annoyed if they do it in online matches wether I'm against them or not. Using a keyboard and mouse for (console) FPS' is one of my personal hates even though more then a few people don't count it as cheating.

Cheat all you want when facing a CPU, but play fair when facing off against another human. Even if they are a complete ass.

Ill cheat if im either done playing normally or get hopelessly stuck somewhere. I play games to have fun, being frustrated over a game isnt my idea of fun, so if it gets that far I'll use a cheat to get around it and enjoy the game again.

So I guess my vote is moral.

Unless your talking about cheating in online games, wich means your basically screwing someone else over.

I tend to adopt the macho-man attitude that cheating in single-player is weak, but not necessarily wrong. Besides, there are extenuating circumstances related to The Rule Of Cool; like spawning stormtroopers to throw them off a ledge or increasing your jumping ability to span continents with a single bound. The "happy" gun in The Phantom Menace owned just for being comical overkill.

Level-skipping and invulnerability: sigh

Cheating online: OFF WITH HIS HEAD! KEEP IT ALIVE AND THROW IT INTO A PRISON TO BE DEALT WITH BY THE INMATES.

I'll fess up to voting for "I hate you."

:D

I don't really mean it, but I selected that one because you really didn't give us the opportunity to vote for the differences between multiplayer and singleplayer. Single play, I think you're missing out on the replay value a game can have - but if you want to do it, go for it (i.e. my wife cheats in The Sims, and then loses interest in the game after a day or 2, and hasn't played it again in years).

Multiplayer games online - I hope those people get banned for life. Unless your friends are joining a server where cheats are obviously on - those times can be fun - but just to enable cheats because you suck or want to appear good at the game? Those people suck.

The point of games is to have fun, if you have more fun cheating then cheat away ..as long as it's not online.
