Poll: The Next Joker

Well, now that The Brave and the Bold has ended, and Mark Hamill has finally finished his career as Joker in Arkham City, it's time to see who should take his place for the next inevitable Batman Series. So, I've come up with a list of the three most likely candidates to become the next Joker.

#1. Brent Spiner
The most recent Joker. Brent Spiner, also known for his role as Data in Star Trek TNG, is the Joker that has appeared on Young Justice.

#2. Jeff Bennet
The Joker from Brave and the Bold. I think this one most emulates Mark Hamill's goofier side of the Joker, which really helped him fit in with the campy nature of BATB.

#3. John DiMaggio
Joker from Under The Red Hood. Probably my favorite non Hamill interpretation. This Joker isn't as funny as Bennet's, but he is much more intimidating. You may also know John DiMaggio as Bender, Marcus Fenix, or the commentator from Mad World.

So, which Joker do you think is the best to replace Mark Hamill whenever another Batman Cartoon rolls around. My money is on DiMaggio, since Young Justice's Batman is voiced by Bruce Greenwood, who was also Batman in Under the Red Hood.

John DiMaggio had the best Joker-esk feel to him. At least compared to Hamill's.

but he's pretty close.

Brent Spiner out of all three of them is probably the best Official Joker. John DiMaggio and Jeff Bennett are Great Voice Actors, but they don't capture the Joker like Mark Hamill did. At Least Brent is trying, and sometimes for him it works. Therefor, I vote for Spiner.

DiMaggio is the only one that really came even close. He even almost got the laugh right.

It takes more then a laugh to be a psychotic clown, you know...

The Young Justice one was terrible and at first i thought it's just some Joker-Wannabe and not actual Joker there, everything from art style to voice was simply wrong.

The Brave and the Bold... I can never treat that one seriously. I mean. No. Just no. The voice wasn't all that bad, but I'd always have the rather "childish" style of that cartoon before my eyes hearing him.

Can't we just clone Mark Hamill and keep the one true voice forever and ever and ever?

John DiMaggio sounds the closest, but at the same time sounds dark enough to hit the low points that made Heath Ledger's interpretation so frightening. A good compromise.

Brent Spiner sounded like a guy version of the Team Fortress 2 announcer.
Jeff Bennett, while still good, wouldn't fit a new Batman series since it will (hopefully) have a different tone and style than The Brave And The Bold.

John DiMaggio had the best maniacal laugh, but i prefer either Brent Spiner or Jeff Bennets general voice, Brent if its going along a more gritty Dark Knight route, or Jeffs if its a more campy route.

The problem is whenever I hear DiMaggio do the Joker he just sounds like Wakka from Final Fantasy X.

This mainly made me realise just how much I'll miss Brave and the Bold. RIP, you cracktacular piece of awesome.

Having fully watched all of the TV shows/movies used in this beforehand, I can say that imo the clips used don't portray Spiner and DiMaggio's full presence in the role. Spiner's Joker sounds much better when he's threatening Robin in the fight scene at the end of that episode of YJ, and DiMaggio's Joker's magna opus is in the climax of the movie (I won't spoil it, but it's amazing).

Basically, what it boils down to is that a Joker needs to have great vocal range in order to fit the voice for the many different aspects of his mania. Whilst all of the actors do this to some degree, DiMaggio's is still the best. He got all the menace, insanity and playfulness in his performance, and considering the story they were adapting, that's one hell of a performance.

Im sure they could find someone with a good joker(mark hamill) impression.

but if I have to pick im stuck, John di sounds sort of too silly and rough but he wouldnt fit the young justice version who looks a bit cleaner and vice versa and brent is to smooth and slow

I'd give it to DiMaggio though, the guy's voice has a lot of range surprisingly and I bet if he were given a few weeks to practice he'd be able to imitate it pretty well.

Although speaking of Futurama voice actors, Billy West might be able to pull off the voice if he were given a chance. I mean he is one of the most versatile VAs, right up there with Jim Cummings. Wonder if the could do it too, I haven't heard anything between his usual gruff bad guy voice or Winnie the Pooh, except maybe Tigger.

DiMaggio almost has the laugh down... but the normal speaking voice he puts on really doesn't fit at all. Spiner and Bennet don't come close on any front. Makes me miss Hamill already.

Wow, Brent Spiner was good! I never knew he did a Joker voice. I'd say either him or DiMaggio, I got Under The Red Hood t'other week and wasn't paying much attention to it, so I didn't really realise how good his voice was. It does have a sound of Bender, which is unsurprising the years he's been doing that character.

I was thinking Tom Kenny might make a good joker too, I know that sounds a bit daft but I think he's a talented voice actor.

Ohhhhh, OK, that's a legit reason. Does make me wish he had the dedication of Richard Steven Horvitz (Invader Zim) but I don't hold it against him.

Cool, those are awesome vids. Sorry if my 1st post sounded kinda snarky about the clips you used, that wasn't my intention at all; I just wanted people to know that their performances were all quite varied as people kept picking up Spiner for that.
