Poll: The Sims 3: Am I a pussy for wanting to play the gaming equivalent of dolls house?

What with next year looking like a sea of shit with a few Gems among the mix its hard to be very hyped for anything next year. Oh sure, theres Brutal Legend coming from Tim freaking Shafter, which is bound to be absolute wacky genius, but that hasn't got a release date yet, the best we can hope for is fall. Then theres Madworld that looks decent, but we don't really know that much about it yet, apart from the fact that you can put a sigh post though someones eye, which is a sure reason to buy it right there, but still.

So, I'm left it a very odd and slightly embarrassing situation where the only game I really really hyped for at the moment is the gaming equivalent of dolls house at best and sitting in a tree and watching people in their house with binoculars at worst. I'm talking of coarse about the Sims 3. While the concept of the game is pretty creepy in a way its strange how addicting it is to direct your own soap opera, except I've never seen anyone piss themselves in Eastenders. The fact that the whole game is now going to be seamless and everything will be happening at once is also very interesting. Basically you don't control one family at a time. Your Sims can go anywhere and you can take control of any character at any time.

So, please tell me I'm not the only guy who's hyped for the Sims 3? Or am I sad and alone with my virtual dolls set?

I would be hyped if it did more of a graphical update, to me, it just seems like The Sims 2:Rebuy our Expansions.

Also, no.

You're either a pussy, or you've got a god complex, or just taste in really, really fun games.

If you've met other guys who play The Sims, you'll find out that most of them just do it to create their best friends then watch them die in blazing infernos. But there are lots of guys out there who plan to get Sims 3, for whatever reason. No need to feel like a wimp

I always used the Sims as less of a nice life simulator and more of a tragic life simulator. Starve them to death, burn them to death, drown them to death...

Like mentioned before it depends on what you want to do with them...

Killing them only you gets you so far though. If I wanted to kill people I'd play...well, a hell lot for other games. Its not easy to kill people in the Sims and not that fun, as it takes so long to do so. Its much more fun to make them eat, shit and fuck to be honest.

Meh, I remember being extremly hyped for the first Sims game back when I was in school. Really enjoyed it too, though have never played any of the sequels or expansions for that matter.

To answer the question, who gives a crap? Play what you want to play.

The Sims, I don't like it, you can make the people in the house play video games, kind of stupid really, the whole concept is a virtual family, which appeals to people who can't have kids and arn't married because of that.

I could be wrong but that is what I think.

How about I'll give some better ways to think about the sims.

-"Its like my own sitcom."
-"They are not dolls, they're action figures"
-"I like manly games, like building houses, and moving heavy furniture."
-"At least its not WoW"
-"It's an RTS against other houses and family's!"
-"What's not awesome about messing with peoples lives?"

Feel free to add to the list people...

It actually doesn't look too bad, from an inside perspective.. They will, at least, ship with working cars..

Total pattern/color matching looks good for designing houses and such
