Poll: Time for a general election?

In light of this wave of cabinet resignations, it appears that Gordon Brown has lost almost all authority both in his party and in the government. There is even talk of replacing the chancellor. The country has no faith in a man who talks about how his party is doing things to help the country out of recession, help small businesses, help homeowners, help the unemployed but i for one have seen no evidence of this.
He claims British Jobs for british workers but takes no action, its up to workers themselves to take direct action such as strikes. His immigration policy is backwards. Yes, lets deny the ghurkas and iraqi interperetors who risk their lives for us and let in some unproductive person who can caim more benefits. Its retarded
All his party have ever done for my generation is introduce tuition fees, ruin the economy and left the North East to pathetic public services and unemployment.

The man is incapable of running his own party let alone the government and i say its time for a general election.

Edit: The reason this interest me so much is that i'm a politics student not just some opinionated randomer

There's going to be no cabinet at this rate. Mind you, I think the public are pretty sick of all the major parties following the Expenses Scandal. Whats worse aswell is that it's the Euro Parliament elections tomorrow, and if we're not careful, someone like the BNP are going to get in.
But I'm totally shocked there's been no Vote of No Confidence yet. With this though, I think it's comparable to Thatcher's dismissal in the sense that there's been a massive Cabinet movement. Not the same really in the story behind it, but the Cabinet has changed ridiculously. In Thatcher's case, there was a vote of no confidence. I'm suprised there hasn't been one for Brown yet.

That's pretty much what the last lot did. Trust me, your faith in the political system will be ground into dust soon enough, just like mine was back in 1997.

So that's why I can't find a job at university! I must have been through every single bloody shop and workplace in Leeds city centre this year and no-one will hire me. And that's why? I live in the North East now and I hated Labour before, now I just loath them with a passion. I vote Conservative anyway, but I agree that a general election is called for. It should have been called for ages ago, actually. The best thing we can do now is have Parliament call for a vote of no confidence in Gordon Brown's leadership and have a general election. And I can guarantee that at this point, Conservative will win by a landslide, since Lib Dems never get enough support, and the other parties will never manage to get the same backing as the big three. The only party that might come close to that is the UKIP, since I think the public (myself included) have just about had enough of the EU now...

But yeah. A general election is needed. Labour have done nothing but screw up and all the infighting now is just dragging them further down. It'll take a long time for them to recover from this now...

Gordon Brown's an idiot, he shouldn't be in charge anyway. There should've been an election as soon as Blair quit. I don't blame him for the expenses crap, because that's been going on for 10+ years and could've been stopped before it started.

It was time for an election the moment he slimed his way into office.

The problem is, who do you vote for? The self destructing socialists led by a blind incompetent scot? The well heeled hypocrits that want new and fair systems for all (as long as it keeps the rich rich and the poor fucked) or the silly party that wants to re-write every rule in the book so they can restore themselves to permanent position of power, fairness be damned?

The alternatives are fascists, communists or environmentalists.

At this rate the only party even close to being a good choice will be the Green Party...

Unfortunately, a vote of no confidence may rally the party which is what we don't need. I am predicting a major liberal come back an a much more evenly divided parliament. I think it will be interesting to see a parliament where the Lib Dems are the main opposition arty.

Calling an election now is a terrible idea. They countries in a turmoil as it is, this isn't the right time to bring in an inexperienced leader. Gordon Brown is a good guy caught up in bad times.

If the tories get in, I'm seriously leaving the country.
