Here's a nice little video with some tongue in cheek humor that talks about the FPS Genre Fatigue, courtesy of Gamespot.

I found the video rather humorous, and it is nice to see the website acknowledge just how ridiculous the oversaturation of the market has become with military fps titles.

So, what do you think? Did you enjoy the video? Did you agree or disagree with what the guys were saying?

THAT is not a video. That is a JPG.

And no, I'm not. I don't get tired of any genre. I only tire of bad games. Dragon Age 2 & Brink tired me out, but I could play the original Dragon Age or Call of Duty for ages.

Whoops, my bad. Sorry about that, changed it to the right one. Still, at least it was a cool picture.

I'd say yes, but honestly I was never interested in the first place.

I can't really be tired of something that I never paid much thought to in the first place. Military FPS games don't interest me, so if I am tired of them in any way, it's not because of them, it's because of people that play them.

I am looking forward to the new Bioshock, though. That's the only upcoming arrow in my FPS quiver right now.

This.

The only reason I'd have an opinion (they're not my type of game) is I'm tired of listening to what sounds like the same type of game, just in a different box. That and the type of people who play them tend to get on my nerves.

No, I'm not, and I'm very much looking forward to learning more about two specific ones, actually (Spec Ops: the Line, and Rainbow Six Patriots).

I've only played a minority of them so I can't say that I am. I haven't been overexposed to them and I see no reason to be tired of them. Not personally at least, but I guess people who play them all have a reason to be tired of them.

I stopped buying them. COD4 is the only one I've bought in the last few years and that was a Steam sale.

But I don't think the general gaming population will ever become fatigued. Individual gamers will get fatigued but there will always be fresh young gamers behind them ready to buy more.

COD/Battlefield may lose popularity though if another strong franchise appears.

I never really played them (too busy rocking my fantasy turn based strategy from the 90s). I guess you can say that I'm tired of them. I wish the resources used to make medal of honor or cod were instead used to make something more in line with my tastes but I guess everyone could say that.

Yes, the military just seems like a dumb subject for any kind of entertainment if you ask me.
JUST MY OPINION!

I don't play them, so I'm not tired of them. There are plenty of other games out there, so I'm not one to complain about military shooters.

No, I'm just tired of military shooters that, to quote the video, "look like a Michael Bay film". I'm still open to play more realistic shooters like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six.

I'm also waiting for someone to make a proper game where you play as a resistance fighter and get to free occupied territory as you see fit. The Pandemic Studios game Saboteur wasn't bad, but it was really repetitive and very little could be accomplished outside of the main quest missions.

this is likely the answer that everyone who clicked option 3 mean to say...Am tired of generic fps with poor storylines, short campains, mediocre multiplayer, no improvments, and AI that is always always flawed in some way

Not particularly. It's not like shooters are the only thing going on in gaming. If you're tired of them, it's your own fault for paying attention to nothing else.
