I prefer Harry over sparkling vamps anyday.

As for what newer fiction series I particularly enjoy, I'm going with the His Dark Materials trilogy.

Both films had dangerously high levels of suckage.

Now if you were to put Army of Darkness (Evil Dead) in there...

I suggest you rephrase your OP as talking about "young adult" novels, rather than being a versus thread.

Oh, and Inkheart was wonderful.
For once, the kid actually had to use her brain, and she was treated as an equal by the adults in the story.

I already know I'm gonna have to slap the guy who thought it would make a good action movie.

The harry potter books are at least well written, even if the target audience is a bit juvenile. Twilight is just a cheesy romance series that doesn't even know how to portray vampires.

I prefer Harry Potter over Twilight. Harry Potter I find is interesting and the characters are well developed. Also the whole wizards thing is light-hearted (to begin with) and then matures as the characters do. On the other hand Twilight is garbage (in my opinion, that is). It is just a splice of Romeo and Juliet with Vampires. Further more it make Vampires pussies... unforgivable! Lastly it has not literacy value... it is terribly written and thoroughly retarded.

Are we speaking of books, films, or other? In any case, Harry beats Twilight hands down. Of course, saying your better then Twilight is like saying you can beat up a crippled 6 year old. It just doesn't say much about you.

Second.

And IF I absolutely must choose between the two, I'll go with "Other". I.E. Shoot myself in the foot. Similar experience, much less time wasted.

To call the Twilight series "books" is an insult to literature everywhere.

At least Harry Potter is readable.

The first Harry Potter book came out when I was nine, and I read the rest of them so I wouldn't feel like an outsider... And I've never read Twilight so I will go with Harry on this one.

Both suck. However the Harry Potter audio books are narrated by Steven Fry. Therefore Harry Potter is superior.

That said, comparing boarding school wizard angst to abstinence prone high school emo vamps is just silly.

Seriously, no one here's an HDM fan? It's still one of the best YA fiction trilogies in the history of ever.
