On the subject of cart race games NOT set in Mario-verse, I'd like to see Sony or Microsoft try a few cross franchise games, like a Smash Bros game. Microsoft has enough of a stable that they could feasibly pull off a multi-franchise shooter. Pit Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, and Commander Shepherd against each other, each with special guns or moves or abilities. Could be pretty cool.
