Just saw the film with some hardcore fanboys/girls so I wanted to know what you guys thought?

The only good thing about these movies are the guns, the vampires, the werewolves and the leather.

One of my favourites.

Have not seen the third one though, not out here yet.

The Underworld movies are pretty bad, but I enjoy them anyway.

I own the first two on DvD. Mostly because they were cheap, but also because sometimes I just want to switch off my brain and watch a hot girl with an asthetic I enjoy shoot the hell out of things.

Being a prequel without the franchise headliner this one is likely to be even worse than the last two. Speaking of which, we already know how this one ends right? It's pretty hard to miss in the first movie.

They're enjoyable just for the gory deaths...

i.e. Marcus pushed into helicopter blades, William's jaw ripped off.

Is this a prequel or something?

I thought the first two were crap, but this one was oddly entertaining. Not saying it is a great film, just that it was a bit of fun and not a bad way to spend a few hours.



Also I blocked out most of the original films, so wasnt sure what was going to happen at the end

Haven't seen it yet, but I'm pretty sure it's a pile of shit.
The sequel was bad enough and the third movie is almost never better.

i myself haven't really seen the movies all the way through, i always catch them on TV when there's like 10-15minutes of it left, so i really don't know what to think.

Personally I do not see what is wrong with the series myself. I enjoyed the first two quite a bit and have watched both a number of times, the second in theatres.

I guess it's just a case of different strokes for different folk. I do find it odd though. My non-emo friends can really get into it whilst my emo friends can't when I expected it to be the opposite way. Kate Beckinsale is a good actress [ignoring that utterly crass role in Van Helsing] but I do agree the series has lacked soul. Mind you, mood might be hard to create when the principle is dating the director in the first, then her co-star in the second. Weird, no? Personally, I find the films good, but not great. Derek Jacobi gave pretty much the only decent performance in number two. If you want to kill a little time, you could do a lot worse than the Underworld films just don't expect huge thrills from them. On that note, I'll be waiting to see number three on DVD.
