Poll: Video Game Age

Hello everyone, I am doing a paper on Video Games not being a disorder, but this isn't being used for the paper. I became curious at what age most players started at and when I tried to find an answer, I found nothing on it so I thought I would ask the friendly escapist community.

So what age did you start playing games?

3-4 was when i first played them didn't get into them until 5-6.

7-8, I think. That was the time of the Playstation 1, no?

I remember playing Crash Team Racing and slapping everyone's shit.

I've been playing them as long as I can remember. My family had the original Nintendo when it first came out, not to mention the original Mortal Kombat arcade cabinet and an amazing arcade cabinet called Mr. Do. So yea... I'd say for as early as I possibly could, likely 2 or 3.

3-4 when my Dad got a Master System for Christmas.

Unless you count Putt Putt or something, because I used to mess on that with my parents when I was like 2, but I hesitate to call what I did "playing."

I think I was 5, maybe 4. An older cousin gave me a SNES. My first two games were Super Mario World and Mortal Kombat.

Dunno. The Atari 2600 came out the same month I was born, so it could have been any time.

5-6 Resident Evil 2, Super Mario World, and Diablo. Good times, good times...

3-4 with Mario is missing on the mac, back when most PC's still used dos
Sonic the hedgehog for Sega Master system
And a game for the NES which I can never remember the name of. 2D platform scrolling shooter.

Still got the 2 console ones if I look hard enough. Probably a lot easier now than I remember

I was 4, Sonic the Hedgehog on my older brother's MegaDrive. Got my first game, Sonic 2, when I was 5 and I've been playing ever since.

I remember a project I had in preschool where we had to write about our favorite activities and I wrote about playing Super Mario.

According to my mom I was about a year-and-a-half old when I first picked up a controller. It was Sonic on the Sega Genesis. I would just push one button and run in one direction before I learned how to run and jump at the same time.

I said 9-10 but that's when I really started playing them thanks to N64. Before, I did own a Gameboy Pocket.

Also, I played Reader Rabbit and Mother Goose like a pro back in the day.
