I liked the first one. Bigger battles mostly. And playing as the Imp. Gaurd using cheats so I can just use them to overwhelm an enemy base (pc ai of course) by sheer numbers, like in the lore. (sorry for double post)
Although I am really looking forward to this game, lets see how it goes.ash-brewster said:Both tbh, they are both good for different reasons. Plus Retribution is out in march and that is back to the recipie closer to 1 with building and multiple race story arcs.
Dark Crusade was by far the best in the series, little things like the commanders talking to each other (and in eliphas' case trolling the other commanders) set it apart from Soulstorm.IBlackKiteI said:Dawn of War Dark Crusade is my favourite, but DoW 1 without any expansions is ok but not great.

The IG is actually damn good if you can upgrade them quick and get them out there fast enough.Johnny Impact said:Gotta go with 2.
First game is too easy once you can build Terminators and Land Raiders, they just roll right over everything. I find the Imperial Guard immensely frustrating, and not in the way that makes me want to "learn to play them." They just plain suck. Also the continuous resource generation means you can just throw waves of dudes and win through attrition without strategizing. Can't do that in 2.
