Poll: Way of the samurai 3

It is a crazy samurai game, it's basically like a grand theft auto except its in feudal japan and instead of guns its all kinds of swords and spears and shit. and each action you do has a reaction to the surrounding area. say you kill 10 towns people the town will fear you, if you kill cops you'll have bounties on your head, if you fuck with the yakuza you'll have yakuza hitmen after you.You can work for the townspeople and the town will give you cheaper stuff or if you dont want to buy it you can just steal it, granted the town will hate you after but it is still fun, working for the magistrate will lead you on another path all together, and the yakuza will lead you on assassination missions and collection missions. All in all I think it is a great game that needs to be released outside of japan, it would be a VERY nice change from the waves and waves of shooters and other stupid shit thats coming out.


The game is based on the Samurai way of life, hence the name way of the samurai.

I loved the first two games although the histories of the people I mostly found idiotic. But gameplay wise it was awesome. I was always craving for some new sword with cool moves, the ninja ones were specially cool... (way of the samurai and I loved the ninja swords best hehe)
EDIT: saw the videos... Man they sure didn't improve the graphics for the third one :S

Way Of The Samurai was an open-ended samurai game with several different endings and a truly ridiculous number of different weapons. The game itself was short - about three hours per playthrough, or about that - but the number of different endings was worth each playthrough. The smallest things could influence what happened during the game, too - talking to a certain character could open up an entirely new area and storyline. Combat was pretty awesome, if I remember... each weapon had a certain "style" attached to it, although to be perfectly honest I only remember the three katana styles: High, Medium and Low. Each style offered different move sets, different offensive and defensive capabilities, reach, speed... and let's not even talk about how certain weapons offered special stat bonuses or ability upgrades.

tl;dr, I want WOTS3 badly. Rearry rearry badry.

dude, have you even fucking seen gta4? the graphics of the enviroment and cars were top notch, the characters themselves did look a bit crappy.
But yeah, if you look close at the 3rd trailer, gameplay still has those big hits that make people float in the air that kind of screw with the whole immersion of the game, those should've gotten fixed by the third one.

PD. Yes, I would definitely buy it... if it was cheap. (40$?)

I am with everyone else who said it, this is a game I would pay full price for. Though I may be stingy and see what reviews of it are first. After all, the second game was not nearly as good as the first, though still good in its own rights.

I'm also glad to see that it is not PS3 exclusive.

it's funny this thread's just been made I just remembered the first way of the samurai on the ps2 last night, I used to play it at my friends house we'd spend hours try to kill the fucking blacksmith!

yeah I'd love to see a pal version of the new one. anyone know why there isen't one already?
