Hello everyone,

I am writing this post because I would like to have some input on a website I am working on.

I am a Dietetics student in the Netherlands and am currently working on my webdesign skills as part of an education program that lasts 10 weeks.

As a form of practice I decided to make a website about food and gaming. Here I want to give people the tools to improve their brain power in order to increase their gaming skills. But to make sure my website will actually have the information "gamers" are interested in I would like to ask you all a few questions.
I would appreciate it if you could take the time to answer these questions.

I got the following questions:

1. On average; how many hours per week do you spend gaming?

2. On average: how many hours per week do you spend time playing videogames competively?

3. From a grade 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). How enthousiastic are you about the idea of a website that
helps improve your gaming skills by changing lifestyle habits? Why?

4. From grade 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). How much would you be willing to change your eating habits to improve your gaming skills? Can you explain why ?

5. What would you like to learn about food?

6. What would you like to learn about the ability of food to improve your gaming skills?

7. Is there something you would like to add?

8. I am looking for people who can preview my website onces it is finished. Would you like to do this?

The website will be ready for feedback in approximately 7 weeks (exact date unknown).

Thank you very much for your time.

2. 0
3. 4 curious but not enough to care too much about it, I am in doubt.
4. 7, I'm okay with changing my eating habits if it means I get better at what I love.
5. Videos would be nice, just written instructions aren't that great with cooking what with the fancy techniques.
6. what?
7. Salt.
8. Maybe, send a link via PM or something when it's done and I'll give you some feedback.

@Keoul: Thank you for answering my questions. If possible I would like to ask you more questions about the answers you've given. I would appreciate it if you could take your time to answer these aswell.

3: You mention you are in doubt about your own enthousiasm e and you give your own enthousiasm a 4. Could you explain to me why you feel doubt and what made you pick a 4 instead of a 6?

5. If I understand it correctly you would like to learn more recipes. Is this correct?

6: I get the impression you did not understand this question. So can I try again with a different formulation: "Is there something about the effect of food on your gaming skills you would like to learn more about? If yes; what would you like to learn more about?"

30-40
Usually that's where it's at. Obviously it depends on the week - sometimes it could be as low as "none". If you need a single number, feel free to put down 30.

0

The actual average would be slightly higher, like, 0.1-0.2-ish but that's just because I rarely play competitive games through the year.

I don't think I care about improving gaming skills. I feel I am competent, also I mostly play SP games anyway, so there is little need for being better than I am currently. I might give it a brief look but that's it.

Again, I don't really care about that. While I might have a slight interest in looking at the information, I have even less of an interest to act on it.

5. What would you like to learn about food?
How to combine them based on nutritional value and composition to improve eating habits.

6. What would you like to learn about the ability of food to improve your gaming skills?
Not much. I might read about it out of curiosity but I'm not after anything specific.

Not really.

I've got webdev and usability experience so I'd be happy to provide some feedback. In fact, I can provide some right now: don't wait until it's finished, test while developing [http://www.nngroup.com/articles/parallel-and-iterative-design/] - just grab, like, 3-5 people and have them look at it regularly [http://www.nngroup.com/articles/why-you-only-need-to-test-with-5-users/].

1.About 32hrs.
2.0
3.A neutral 5. There are other concerns besides just effect for me. Taste and ease would be weighed equally with it.
4.Another 5. I would look at what food have negative effects on me and if convenient avoid them.
5.What kind is bad and why. The opposite applies equally as well.
6.I'm not sure how to answer this one, even after reading your answer to Keoul's post. I think I might have already answered it?
7.Would it start with basics like carbohydrates, sugar, etc. and go on to good ingredients (produce, products) and finally recipes?
8.Nah, I'm not good enough for that, besides I'm not sure I'm in your target demographics.

DoPo and Vendor-Lazarus, thank you for your input. Getting frequent feedback would sure be nice. If you know someone who would be interested in giving my website feedback I am certainly open for it. Right now I am mostly looking for input on desires, however. But once I start building more feedback would always be nice.

I'll contact people who have shown interest in helping me once I have something to show.

1. 35

3. 10, I'm trying to get really good at Dota 2 and spend a lot of my day either playing it or watching youtube videos on how to play it better. A website like that would be nice to look at to give me some ideas.

4. 1, I'm pretty poor because I'm a college student, so unless you're going to say, "Eat even MORE ramen noodle cups" I doubt I could afford any changes.

5. Even if I can't make them I like reading recipes, I used to work BOH and whenever I scrape together enough dosh to eat well I usually do.

6. I'm interested in what you have to say, I'm always collecting knowledge for the addition of my library, after all I am Wan Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things.

7. There are so many different skills needed to preform well competitively, are you looking for food to improve my reaction time? To relax me so I can make better decisions? To prevent cramps? Increase focus? Or the big one for me, keep my nerves in check, because my solution right now is to bum a fag from one of my teammates after every match to keep my hands from shaking. Just keep in mind that there is more than one skill we are talking about, and different foods have different effects. (I'm not saying you haven't thought of this by the way, just wanted to be helpful and provide some examples just in case you hadn't).

8. Course mate, I love helping a fellow gamer out.
