Seeing as how Religion is the primary source of MOST wars... I chose that.

Organised Religion has given us more war, destruction and death than anything else. The Ak47 likely comes a close second, since its been in every small and major conflict since its creation and will continue to do so for a very long time.
whats ak47?

It's a kind of gun.
I disagree. The AK47 didn't start those conflicts and if it didn't exist the combatants would just use a different weapon to kill each other.

I say religion AND politics. They're inseperably linked in this context. The majority of "holy" wars are actually political, with religion little more than an excuse to go to war and a means to whip the masses into a frenzy of patriotism.

I don't know if you could really call the AK-47 a cause of conflicts (since they certainly made enough to go around), but it does make it easier to have a deadly conflict in a less than immaculate landscape.

I say religion, for if it wasn't for religion, what excuse would they have for the crusades, the inquisition, the holocaust, the middle east war, Vietnam, etc. "They said that their god could kill our god! lets kick their ass, who's god's better now!?! BIATCH!" thats why I'm atheist!

That's why I voted for politics.

It's funnier when you realize that they're both supposed to be the same god.

Are you kidding? Vietnam? Vietnam was about stomping out communism and controlling the region. Religion didn't factor in, unless communism is suddenly a religion and not an socioeconomic model now. The Vietnam war was really just a physical extension of the Cold War between the US and Soviet Union.

As for your question, they would have found another excuse to harm others. It's human nature.

I put sexuality. Because I think besides religion and politics, a lot of it has do with I'm bigger then you are in my pants! And then they fight. *nod *nod

what? The whole christian thing is to say SEX IS BAD! "Im' bigger than you in the pants" says one sexually repressed man, "well it doesn't matter because you aren't allowed to use it" says the other sexually repressed man, whats wrong with that scene...

Because religion is the primary drive for fighting wars, I choose religion. Even if the reason is political or sexual or something, think about how many people got riled up to fight based on religion.

The populace hated commies for being atheistic.

Wars over the "Holy Land." It's land, but people think it's "Holy."

Wars in the middle-east? That's religion all the way...
