It puts the voices in a hole and tells them to put the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again....

I don't like going to pubs much, where I live there's a high probability of getting shot or stabbed, so I get toghether with my best friend to play and get drunk, unfortunately he left to afghanistan today so that's not an option for a year.

Games recharge my batteries so to speak. If I'm tired of studying, If I feel creatively blocked, If I just have been thinking of something for so hard and long that my mind feels literally "locked up". That's when gaming does the most for me. I relegate my current thoughts (the ones I'm stuck with) to my subconscious and then throw the conscious some games while I let the subconscious do the heavy lifting. It really works great!

The world is a large, uncaring place that takes much more than it gives. The grind of dealing with people I don't like, working to make money so I can survive to live another boring day, going to college so I can get a job that will give me benefits that will enable me to have more free time. Sometimes it's to much, and I just need to escape. Video games give me that, they let me be someone i'm not, and do things I never could. They let me forget about the real world, if only for a few hours.

Its a cross between both an escape and a relaxer. A video game is like an interactive book for me. It offers fun challenges and helps focus my mind. Some games can even give insight to who I am as a person; like some of the choices I had to make in Mass Effect 2, how I react to stress, how I respond to people online, etc.. The stories are also amazing for the most part, and I haven't ever found myself saying that a game would be better on paper. Entering a world like the ones in the virtual world give a tale that offers immersion and detail on a different level that books couldn't reach.

On the less mature side, sometimes its fun to just project myself into whomever I'm playing as and pretend I'm doing the stuff they are; may it be killing or doing extreme things. Its always fun to break the rut of everyday life and get absorbed into these CDs.
