Hello.

It has come to my attention, than a large number of people, not just from this forum, but other forums as well, have really strange forum behaviour.
Now, when a forum topic is mentioned its logical to think that one would view it to read it, but here are some forum-behaviours I've ascertained:

- Scrutinizer - only view a topic to read it and it's comments, but not comment.
- Commentator - only reads the subject and then comments on the topic.
- Forum-fan - view the topic, read it and comment it, vote if there is a poll and even sometimes reply to others' comments.
- Voter [optional] - if there is a poll - he votes. This comes combined with one of the mentioned above.

So, I desided to make a little poll and see who does what here, just for fun.

Thanks for taking your time to view, I hope was of intrest to you. ^^

Probably more of a forum fan. I read the first couple pages to see if what I want to say has been said in a fashion that I like by anyone else. I'll usually comment if not, or tip my hat to anyone that did, and if people respond to me I try to get back to them in the affirmative or negative but I try to dignify them with a response.

Sometimes though in parsing a thread I decide I'd have nothing constructive to add or just want no part in what's going on. These things do happen.

Depends on what it is.

Like, sometimes I'll read the first post, shrug and leave. Sometimes I'll read all of the first page before shrugging and leaving. Sometimes I might just post after reading 3 or 4 posts.

Really depends on the topic.

I look at the first post and consider the following:

1) Is the topic relevant to me?
2) Will i be getting myself involved in a flame war?
3) Is the topic troll bait?
4) If the topic is contentious, what are people's differing opinions?
5) Would my opinion upset others?

If i feel the topic violates any of the above guidelines, or the topic simply isn't interesting enough, i don't post and move on. If the topic is interesting but inflammatory or a trollfest, i don't post in order to save face. After all, it's better to say nothing and stay safe from the banhammer than to say something silly and get punished for it later.

I'll go with what this guy said, 'cos he said what I was thinking... only more coherently. *doffs hat*

Though perhaps I'm a tad more lax wrt the guidelines...

I usually don't vote on polls because none really ever tell what I actually think.

Also, I comment as I please. If I like the subject matter than I shall, if there is a bunch of debates going on I just try to stay out of it, even if I like the subject.

Just what's that supposed to mean? People should always feel free to speak their mind!

*Drags you into a debate.*

But no seriously, I'm just kidding. Half my posts are congratulating people on their avatars. This is one of those posts. Nice avatar.

I usually look at alot of threads that interest me and I do go out of my way to not look at threads that sound stupid or too controversial for me. But if I find a thread I find interesting I will take the time to look at others posts and I will reply to some but I do usually look at most of the posts in a thread unless its like 8 pages then I will only look at probably half of the posts.

I'd go for the fast commentator, I read the OP [sometimes I only read half if I'm particularly eager] and maybe skim over a couple of responses to "fuel" me
