I say Maroon 5 because they put out Moves like Jagger which is the worst song in the history of bad songs.

My friend says Nickelback because of every song they've ever put out ever, none of which are as bad as Moves like Jagger, but the sheer weight of all of them combined outdoes Maroon 5.

You make a strong point. Moves like Jagger is dumb. Really really dumb. However, I would blame Ke-dollarsign-ha for dragging "Jagger" out of his grave back in "Tik Tok." Ugh... Now that song was an abomination. Moves like Jagger was stupid, but not Ke$ha stupid.

You learn something new every day. As for me, I think Maroon 5 had some great singles and Nickelback is just alright. I see people hating on all that commercial mass produced electronic autotuning talentless music but I enjoy a lot of it.

On the scale of mankind (pretty much anything that has an IQ above that of common mold), I'd say both Maroon5 and Nickelback do not matter... at all.

If you're looking for something that really drags mankind down, look at old hag Madonna, or some creature from the abyss like Nicki Minaj - she outdoes Lady Gaga on the WTF? front and she lowers the IQ of consumers significantly, even before she delivers those nonsensical lyrics or that bottom drawer, behind the teenage angst suicide notes rap rhyming style.
