What is your favorite kind of soda and is there any particular reason?
For further discussion value: Any interesting soda stories?

I tend to favor Diet Coke in restaurants and with meals (I only like Pepsi from a fountain, no bottles or cans), but if I'm just drinking soda on its own I like myself a nice root beer out of a glass bottle. Preferably IBC, but I've heard Fitz's is great stuff and that being from Missouri I need to try it.

And for interesting stories, I worked at Disney World for a while and I learned of a secret place in EPCOT where you can get all the soda you want for free. It's called the Ice Station, and it's got sodas from all around the world you can sample. Israel, Germany, Japan, Brazil...lots of different places with very interesting tastes in soft drinks. Also, when my parents visited me there, I always ran backstage when we were in the parks with like $5 in quarters to get our drinks during the day. Soda on stage is $2.50 for guests, but backstage it's $1.25 :)

I went for Creme Soda, simply because it manages that seemingly impossible feat of tasting like custard, being a fizzy drink, and not tasting like bile mixed with acid.

That, gentlemen, is quite something!

Vanilla Coke, that is my favourite soda.

I know very few people who like it...and it is hard too come by here.

Well, I tend to drink lager more nowadays for my fizzy drink, but Dr. Pepper is pretty good. Also, Iron-Bru makes a great hangover cure.

Jamaican style Ginger Brew. Its the strongest, most gingery ginger ale youve ever had. Its very strong stuff, but i love it. Its got a heavy bite to it that you dont get from regular ginger ale.

Its a little on the expensive side though and usually you have to get it at a health food store or specialty shop.

Jones Green Apple Soda is without a doubt my favourite. I wish it was more readily available where I live tho.

I voted Cola, but it's a close thing between Coke and Irn Bru. Lately I've been drinking more Irn Bru, but I feel that's more related to 1 litre bottles being £1 at Tesco.

Don't have any stories, but Irn Bru has had some pretty good ads the past few years:

I loved that stuff. You have to order it in if you want it over here.

Otherwise I couldn't live without my coke. I tried both Pepsi and Doctor Pepper and hated them.
Tango is pretty kick-ass though, especially Cherry Tango.

I'm a bit different; I'm Puerto Rican, so a drink I have a lot around here is Coco-Rico. You'd think that a soda that tastes like Coconut would be kinda weird but I love it.

Why in the name of god is mountain dew not on this list? Why? This is inexcusable.

Mountain dew is my favorite. Followed by the distant second of diet pepsi.

Wait... my favourite is "Ginger Beer". Do I pick Root Beer or Ginger Ale?

Aren't they the same thing?

*Edit* Wikipedia tells me that Root Beer doesn't have ginger in it at all, but it also tells me that Ginger Beer and Ginger Ale are two different things. This hasn't really helped at all, I guess I'll go with other...

Irn Bru. You can only get it in the UK, but it's awesome.

Other than that I like most sodas besides Root Beer, and Tonic water.

Interesting bit of trivia, Scotland is the only nation, (maybe only one of a few) in the world where Coca Cola is not the best selling soda, that honour belongs to Irn Bru.

I'll say coca-cola, mountain dew is good but it loses it taste with certain food, coke tastes good with almost everything. I really dislike pepsi though, to flat of taste, good with pizza though.

Apart from that, it's orange soda.

My favorite soda is birch beer. Way better than root beer or sarsaparilla.
