Since I'm new here, I'd like to hear the pulse of you, the respected Escapist geek community, what is your general music preference. I really tried to be as much as broad when chosing the particular genres and I don't think one can be much broader within just 8 possible options so don't give me no crap about not including that nintendo/glitchcore niche stuff you listen to. You, the respected nintendo/glitchcore listener are invited to write it so in your respected post, but in poll you should check 'Electro-indie' which would be the closest umbrella genre.

So, what is it?

Metal. And rock, I guess. Psychedelic rock, classic rock, prog rock. I like most kinds of metal, and I don't mind hardcore. Don't really listen to much punk, but I like what I've listened to. So I guess I fit into that category. But when it comes to eargasms, it's definitely metal that does it for me. Especially Manowar.

Blues-rock, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk, Grunge, and Roots Reggae. Mainly.

I sing fairly regularly at a folk club, too, and listen to classic folk, as well as folk-rock.

And a bit of intelligent and/or old-school hip-hop.

Music with soul.

Mostly metal and rock but I listen to anything as long as it doesn't suck (like country music)

I like pretty much everything but my recent love for Electronic has been replaced by love for Big Band/Jazz/Blues/Vocal music. Stuff like Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, things like that.

It's a mix of the rock/punk/metal/hardcore, indie pop/indie/rock/electro-indie and the electronic option. Out of all those my love is rooted in Prog metal, hardcore punk and math rock.

Mostly punk music (I count Green Day, and Rise Against), though I spread to mainstream rock (as mainstream as you can call Lostprophets, anyway) and light metal (System of a Down, Death By Stereo) occasionally too.

Stuff you can rock out to.
More specifically, I love some bands that range from genres like techno, post-hardcore, trance music, drum and bass, electronic rock, dubstep, and rock.
So to put it very generally, Electronic-rock.

I like this. And generally agree. My 'pod is crammed with all of the above, and more. Add in a healthy splash of downtempo beats and some psy-whatever, and that's me.

Though lately I've been grooving to an inordinate amount of jamtronica and electro-house as well, which is a wicked weird smash of stuff to alternate back and forth from...

Generally, i like good music. That's as much as i am willing to define music. I'll listen to anything from classical, through blues, jazz, rock'n'roll, rock, punk, ska, post punk, cold wave, industrial, ebm, indie to pop.
