Poll: What is your opinion on the recent giveaway fiasco?

So recently, Youtubers (namely Whiteboy7thst and xJawz) have been doing several gaming giveaways. Several other Youtubers have addressed this as cheating or gaming the system, with a cycle like this:

Buy stuff -> Post videos with giveaway -> Get on Frontpage -> Get views -> Make more money, then rinse and repeat.

Other arguments are that these giveaways block other up and coming Youtubers from getting recognition, or that they just do it for money and fame.

I would like to know the Escapist's opinion, so have at it.

First post, naming specific YouTubers I've never heard of to say they give away free stuff, and suggesting some sort of supposedly scandalous shenanigans.

Uh, actually I can show you several videos showing the giveaways, and I'm no way endorsing the giveaways. I'm just asking for opinions, not to be treated like I'm some spokesperson.

Also, check the date my account was made. Would someone really wait about 7 months to endorse giveaways? I think not.

Opinion 1: LOL Youtube.

Opinion 2: Whatever works. I don't know what would drive someone to try to use youtube to make money, probably the yet-unclassified mental disorder known as Unwarranted Self Importance, but it's a fairly bad idea and if they want to waste time putting a million videos nobody cares about on the internet, that's their time to waste.

Just want to clarify a few things before it gets brought up:

1. I do not participate in these giveaways, nor am I trying to endorse this.

2. I do not care about these giveaways, just find them annoying as they are usually on Top Favorited and Gaming Spotlight, and some stay up there for days.

3. Only 2 people have so far instinctively done giveaways in this back to back succession, but several people have responded including FreddieW (which some people might not know once again).

4. I respect everybody's opinion, but don't try me as a spokesperson just for asking a opinion, or think I care oh so much about this.

I post a comment on every giveaway video to the effect of:
"I don't want one of these, 'cos I don't think it's any good. Giving away stuff is cool, though."

Ok, maybe it's a cheap way to grow their channels, but hey .. it's totally not a scam, since nobody loses anything (except possibly people with awesome videos who would have got on the front page if it weren't for the giveaway).
