Hey Escapists! I'm facing a dilemma and I need your help... It's payday today and I'm all set to buy SC:Conviction. Now, I'm not a rich man and my local independant games shop has it on PC for AU$54 (Bargain!) versus AU$75 for 360. Problem is I am fiercely opposed to Ubi's redonkulous DRM and don't want to send them the message that I condone it... but I HAVE to have this game! So I ask you, should I eviscerate my ethics and save my poor wallet by going PC, wait a fortnight and get it for 360 or should I say "Fuck Ubi!" and not buy it at all? (Ain't gonna happen!)

Rent it, Ubisoft get no money that way. It's also a good way to judge whether you do want to buy it or not in the end.

Oh Splinter Cell.

I thought you were talking about Starcraft for a minute there.

Either rent it or buy it used so Ubisoft get no cash.

Depends. If you've played the previous games on PC, bite the bullet and deal with the DRM. Otherwise, 360 that shit.

Feels like the controls work better on the 360, that's what I have it on. And besides that, it also gives you the option to play co-op splitscreen on the same console and tv if you get it on 360, and it's nice to have that option.

If you absolutely -have- to get it, go with the 360 version. In my experience, having played the SC games on both PC and Xbox, the controller feels a little easier to use. Also, you don't have to deal with the DRM. I'm not touching any ubisoft products that use that DRM (if they have it on the PC, I won't even buy it on xbox) though, which sucks. I was really looking forward to assassins creed 2 and SC: Conviction, before they decided that I had to be permanently connected to their servers, which have already failed 2 times so far for extended periods of time. I won't endorse any DRM that says I, as a legitimate customer, can't have access to my product whenever I want to.
