Um... We could call them...

Groups?

EDIT: From what I can tell, human beings have a range of names for the various groups we create. Unlike other species, which generally have one type of grouping, humans have hundreds.

Packs, herds, flocks, murders, etc. Which do we travel in?
Swarm is flying insectoids, Murder is for crows, flocks is for flying birds, herd is for catle.
Flock may be used to address humans, but is usually used for sheep.
The rest looks strange.

What is this for?

Swarms or murders seem the most appropriate, going by our characteristic traits. :p

Not one of the poll options is even slightly appropriate. Packs is probably the best of them, I guess, but all of them are stupid and "tribe" or even just "group" is a much better term.

With Murder and Swarm especially it is clear you just ran out of ideas and wrote the first ones that came into your head.

Humans are different. We have many different forms of social groups, while m ost animals only have two('pair' and whatever the group name is, like 'herd').

The technical classifications for groups of humans depend very specifically on the number of people in that group.

A party of humans works when it's about 4 to 8 humans. A tribe of humans is usually considered around 30 people from an anthropological viewpoint. A mob of humans, probably around 100. A congregation, around 80. An army.... that's debatable. Some say 1, some say millions.

But the most common name for travelling groups would be a tribe, followed by a band (as in, a band of gypsies), followed by a troupe.
