Poll: What would you rather have the Gravity Gun or the ASHPD/ Portal Gun?

My friend and I disagree on this I say Gravity Gun he says Portal Gun. So...What would you rather have?

The Portal Gun is much better. It can move things just as well as the Gravity Gun if you use physics and momentum correctly. Also, it's a Portal Gun.

The Gravity Gun seems safer despite its practicality. Some of the coolest tricks you could do with a Portal Gun become useless when you apply G-Force or Gravity. We don't have fall damage negating shoes.

The gravity gun can lift things, I can do that with the correct machinery. The portal gun however, could allow me to use the toilet while I'm still at the computer. That is progress.

I'm tempted to say portal gun.... but the portals don't work on every surface, so gravity gun.

Think of the heists you could pull off with the portal gun!...or better yet, think of the heists you could pull off if you had both!

Edit: Although I think some people are forgetting that to use the portal you have to be able to make a portal in both places, so it's not like you can just immediately travel anywhere, unless I'm missing something. You could definitely have some fun with it though and I'm sure there are some great pranks you could pull with it that I'm not thinking of.

Alyx pretty much sums up the use of the gravity gun for you. "We usually use it for heavy lifting, but I've found it handy for clearing minefields."

So it's pretty much a portable forklift, with some limited military applications (other than the whole 'everything is a projectile' tactic, which I can see would cause a lot of problems in a real life combat scenario).

The Portal gun, on the other hand... well, it's a fucking PORTAL gun, think of the things you could do with it! We could make huge advances in science, transport, military hardware etc. or you could just use it to get home quickly.

Of course, mass production would be out of the question. Imagine the chaos an extremist organisation could cause with it, or even a small time assassin with friends in high places.

So I guess the Portal gun would be much more versatile, but the gravity gun doesn't have potential to screw the world over.

I'm also pretty sure the portal gun would allow perpetual energy machine to be created, I don't really know how though...

Maybe some sort of pulley? If you create a portal in the floor and ceiling, drop the device and it can create power as it falls forever?

Portal gun; as awesome as it is to fling sawblades at zombies' midsections, flinging myself all throughout Philadelphia would be even better (I just need the heel springs too, so I'm not reduced to a pile of strawberry jam if I miss the portal).

I'd pick the Portal gun, though I would have difficulty resisting the urge to do all the things that GLaDOS specifically told me not to do.

Still, it would be neat to show off to people.

The gravity gun, I find, is a little clumsy and heavy to own, as opposed to the portal gun which can help you move between places with speed and ease.
