MetaBombing: The practice of mass participation in bringing down user review scores to low levels on a game because of small complaints that are over dramatic and pathetic.

I'm calling it right now, Dragon Age III will be released and in a fury, the game is going to suffer the wrath of metacritic bombers. Not only is it coming off apparently the worst sequel of all time if you ask any fan of the original game, it's also packing in a multiplayer feature. So i personally think it's going to happen. The game will be attacked and ripped apart on Metacritic because people will find the smallest complaints.

Other than Dragon Age III what other games do you think will suffer the wrath of MetaBombing?

oh the next Call of Duty. << that definitely will take top honours.

Good to see you made an unbiased post and didn't come off a **** or anything.

Dragon age 3 will get metabombed though if they make it anything like 2. People enjoyed the first one but then they changed it's style a lot for 2 and many people hated it.

After ME3 I have lost faith in Bioware to produce the games that I liked before, they have just moved on to a different audience so I doubt I will be getting it, hopefully there will be a demo though as I will still be interested, since I loved the first game.

I reckon the game will get bombed and I also expect the game will deserve the resulting aggregate score somewhere between 3 and 6. Bioware are getting worse. Prettier and flashier sure, but also less substance.

GTA 5 could well be "meta-bombed" if it isn't as "fun" as people hope it to be.
Plus it'll likely get amazing reviews from critics, leading to legions of people claiming that it's "over-rated."
By the way, is "meta-bombed" a new term or something? I like it...

I... I liked Dragon Age 2. Aside from the copy pasted dungeons(which I admit,I did rage hard over) I don't see anything wrong with it. Great dialogue on par with the first game, even better combat, fantastic characters, good story.

Kind of sad there was no evil Captain Janeway Morrigan clone army though.

I don't get what people were upset about.

There is no "Meta-bombing", it just so happens that a fuckton of people genuinely did not enjoy the game. Is that so hard to understand? Seriously, why do you think it happened to Dragon Age 2 and not Dragon Age: Origins?

Any game where they keep the game the same as the origional, change it from the origional, include too much from the origional, exclude too much from the orgional.

Anyone could be a target really, just have to wait for it to happen and then "discuss" it for weeks on end once it does happen.

ROFL...wut?

Seriously?

So all those 0 score day 1 reviews from people who haven't even played games yet...those are for genuine, informed reasons. Not meta-bombing at all.

Good to know.

I would say no, at least not until Bioware comes out and does something dumb again. Probably DLC related.

That argument would work if everyone who gave reviews actually played the game. Most of the "bombers" haven't even touched the game.

DmC, the franchise fanboys yell out enough hate the make the youtube channel disallow comments on some of their videos. I would not be surprised if they all metabombed it as it comes out (I know I will).

Besides, does anyone take those reviews seriously?

"Metabomb" sounds like something a Doctor Who villain would use.

OT: Every single Bioware game from now until the end of time.

Every single Call of Duty game from now until the end of time.

Assassin's creed 3 could also be a likely candidate.

If its a sequel, someone or a group of people who were fans of the previous/first game in the series will metabomb it. If its a reboot, then fanboys of the original will metabomb it. Even its if completely unrelated, someone will metabomb it. Why?
