Hello friends,

So we finally are in 2019. In this thread we discuss our most anticipated FPS of 2019. 2019 looks to be excellent year for FPS as in the year where Doom and Metro coming out in same year. so lets talk about our most anticipated FPS shall we? excluding hybrids like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Outer worlds and excluding games that has no 2019 release date like witchfire and Halo infinite.

Atomic Heart looks the most interesting by far. Hopefully it'll actually be good to match that potential.

Wolfenstein Youngblood might be good, but I have to wonder how long they can keep pushing the "Resistance in a World run by Nazis" without it becoming too depressing. Youngblood all but states BJ and Co haven't done much by their efforts. Don't get me wrong, killing Nazis never gets old but when it's done so seriously it's hard to justify "Does this even matter? Kill one or a million and they're still winning".

Holy hippy cows! came in to say Red Until New Dawn, then saw that screenshot which could only be described as a skittle-induced juicy fever dream explosion, and now can't really not choose that.

I always thought those games had a strong tongue-in-cheek tone though, which weren't afraid of embracing darker moments, but could never label them as "serious."

After reviewing these titles carefully when I'm not blasting fools in Ring of Elysium and PUBG, I've decided that next year I'll be doing what I do every year...

There was one game I was keeping an eye on, but I've completely forgotten its name and it seems to have disappeared. It was in the same vein of Agony and Doom in that you're fighting monsters(maybe aliens?) and everything looks very H.R. giger and you have weird organic weapons. You shove like leeches or worms into weird guns and can swap them out?

I feel like I've gone insane as its just gone.

Honestly, I'm not really looking forward to any of these. I'll probably pick up some of them eventually, but until then, wait and see.

Looking at this video, I was at first on board with the art and creature design, but that kind of fell apart for me the moment the moment combat started and the bio-guns sounded and functioned just like regular guns. Makes it come off as a bog-standard shooter but with a Giger paintjob.

I don't really pay too much attention to FPS games in general, but of the ones you listed, I guess I'm "most excited" about Metro Exodus and Doom Eternal, and also looking forward to Atomic Heart.

In this sense excited means "I'll get them eventually if they don't turn out shit". I have too much of a backlog to buy new games constantly these days.
