Jazz at the moment, I'm focusing on jazz drumming right now and just got Time Out and Naked City.

Well, my current listened-to bands are probably punk rock, stoner rock, alternative metal, progressive metal etc.

So I picked rock/metal, definitely. I basically listen to those two, though if I find something that I like, I'll start listening to it, no matter what the genre.

System of a down. They can fall into many categories, but I'd call them other to save time.

Although I absoloutely hate how vague this label is, I'd have to go with rock. That being said, I love so many different sub-genres of rock, and just using the one word feels like an injustice. Also, not to be anal, but "Rock/Metal" is a bad option - "Rock" has literally countless sub-genres, one of which is "Metal" (which in turn has a number of sub-genres). In other words, the poll needs work.

Tie between jazz (notably swing, and bebop/hard bop) and rock in various forms.

I couldn't choose between Pink Floyd or Miles Davis, not even if you put a gun against my head.

I guess Drum & Bass would come under techno.

I don't think that Rock/Metal is refined enough. I was talking to my mates about the
sub-genres and sub-sub-genres or rock and metal. We agreed that to document our thoughts properly we would need a rather large whiteboard and make a network like in "School of Rock".
