I have been wondering, having just watched a 'Mad TV' marathon, what is the most common favourite comedy style? Mine is either Intellectual or Funny Man-Straight Man comedy. Whats yours?
Intellectual- Things like Monty Python, or Vicker of Dibly, or Dilbert, when the joke requires you to think about it.
Slap-Stick- When the comedy is based around violence also known as physical comedy.
Stand Up- When a single person monolouges about funny events, or stories.
Funny Man-Straight Man- When the comedy Springs from an un-even pairing of two people with vastly different personalities.
Musical- When a song is funny Like Tim Minchin or The Flight Of The Concords.
Sketch- When a pre-made act is preformed with a theater of sorts, like MAD TV or This Hour Has 22 Minuets.
Spoof- When a place, thing, ect is made fun of like Comedy Now or Air Farce Live.
Black- Cynical, or ultra Violent Comedy Like Zombieland.
