How did you end up with your job? Was it an accident or is it the thing you have wanted to do since childhood? Would you rather work somewhere else? Feel free to share all your job-relared stories.

I'm an intern at Vuzix in Rochester, NY. They make head-mounted displays and I write extension to make games stereoscopic. As part of most of RIT's degree programs students are required to do 4 quarters worth of paid internship, and I've done 3 at Vuzix so far. I wouldn't say it was a job I intended to do, but it is fun to work with games even if I'm not making them.

I'm the producer for a radio station in Barrie, Ontario, Canada! LIFE 100.3! It's a Christian Radio station, and I absolutely love this job. I don't get paid much (less then $30,000 a year), but the creativity I'm free to use and people I work with completely make up for it. Not everyone can say they love their job, so I see it as a sweet blessing!

In order:
I work no where, because I'm too young.
I make 0$.
I got where I am by doing nothing.
Since childhood I have always wanted to do nothing.
I'm happy not working.
I have no stories.

That answer all your questions?

I'm a 3D animator for an engineering firm. More or less I wanted to make video games, but as it turned out I studied the wrong 3D modeling techniques and ended up here instead. I love my job and didn't even know it existed until I found it while sending out my resumes. I get to build cities and it's awesome.

I am a Pro Golf Caddie. Yep something I always wanted to do, and I'm loving it. Not the most glamorous job...but I love the game. Plan on doing this for the rest of my life if I can.

That. Worst thing is when I'm old enough to work we'll still be in a recession or in the middle of it.

I work for an Oil Company in the Land Administration Department, it's a little soul crushing but the people are nice and the pay is good. There also aren't many enjoyable careers out there for lazy, ambitionless geeks with History Degrees so I've got to take what I can get really.

I'm a ropes course facilitator. It's what I've wanted to do for a good number of years.

I work part-time for UPS while attending school. I load up the outbound trucks that head to other cities. And for the record, most of us don't throw the boxes around. ;P

I worked for UPS for two years while I was going through school. Great health insurance, shitty hours (I was graveyard shift) and good exercise. Try to switch to the sort if you can, it makes the shift seem much faster.

I work as a salmon fishfarmer in Norway..

Like to work with living things, and since its such a relativ new line of work (started in the early 1980's), and the fact that it is living organisms we are dealing with, you can never know what the next day will bring.. Always new things to learn..
At the base of it all, i can be called a fish veterenerian.. lol..

It also pays fairly well, going at 55 000 euros a year..

As much as I want to try to quit my job and get my life in order, I can't right now, my girlfriend is in danger of getting laid off from her job and in such a case we'll likely need my stability, decent paycheck and health benefits to get by.

I am the general manager for a franchise location of a major optical retailer. I am a state Licensed Optician (in Virginia, U.S.A.) I've been doing this work for about 10 years now and I love it. I like the fact that I am helping improve many people's quality of life (a little over 50% of the population can get use out of some type of corrective eyewear; I'll see if I can dig up the source for that info.) Once, very early in my career, I fitted a little girl of about 7 years of age with her first pair of eyeglasses and she had a VERY high perscription. When she was able to really see the world for the first time, she broke down into tears right there in the store. There is truly no feeling like the feeling you get witnessing such a thing. I knew then I was in the right business.
