It's a simple enough question. If you could have chosen which of the nine regions of Tamriel would you have had the fifth Elder Scrolls game take place in? Also why, what interests you about that region in particular?

Personally I would have preferred it to have been set in the Summerset Isle. The island itself sounds like it would lend itself to many interesting scenarios. From the ingame description the island seems quite beautiful with varied landscapes with but what I really think would be awesome are the cities that are described as being really interesting and unique looking, as if made of "glass or insect wings" which I think sounds as though it would be amazing to look at and play in.
I bet it would be a really interesting world to play in too. Since it's a fairly magical place it would probably have an abundance of interesting enemies, similar to Vvardenfell, along with a unique society which could make for an interesting backdrop and story.

My second choice would be Black Marsh because like Summerset Isle it seems like it would be a really interesting and fun region to play in, with a lot of unique features and enemies.

I didn't include Cyrodil in the poll because Oblivion was set there and I didn't think anyone wanted a rehash of that area so quickly. I did include Morrowind though, because it's changed a lot since Morrowind and there's more of the region to explore than just the island of Vvardenfell, so it might be a fun area to revisit.

I... actually wanted Skyrim. 100%.
That's cool.
Originally the land of Skyrim never really interested me that much, but seeing what they did with it in some of the trailers I'm really excited. It looks like it will be a very beautiful region to play in, although I wish the landscape was a little more varied than just snowy mountains. Either way it does look awesome!

Like you though, I can't wait until they do a game with Summerset.

What about Akavir? I want to play as a tiger-dragon, snake demon, and monkey. Don't you all?
That would be pretty awesome. I was thinking about including that as an option, but there weren't enough pool options to include it.
..Sorry

It would be really interesting to see Akavir as a playable area, maybe they'll release it later as DLC? That would be pretty cool.

I actually wanted them to do Skyrim next. But if I had to choose somewhere else, I would choose either Hammerfell (DOS graphics do not do open world games justice) or Black Marsh. And when do we get to see what the Sea of Ghosts is all about?!

Also in case the Escapist decided to eat the poll, the choices are:
Black Marsh
Elsweyr
Hammerfell
High Rock
Morrowind
Summerset Isle
Valenwood
or Skyrim, if you're fine with it the way it is

Really, Summerset? Yeah I'll take a pass. Altmer are incredibly annoying and arrogant: they are easily my least favourite race.

Also that would mean more goblins... ugh. You do know that the High Elf Wizard Lords make extensive use of goblins as soldiers and servants. Those things are incredibly annoying too, so I guess it's a good match.

Oh, I forgot to mention - Bloodmoon. Epic expansion pack - it's that, but BETTER.

And I'd been expecting Skyrim for about a year, because of the copyright. Observe my Pre-emptive fanart! [http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae33/SirBryghtside/SKYRIM.png]
Hm that makes me wonder, do you think they will be werewolves in Skyrim? Because that would be awesome.

Also that is some... great fan art you have there. You are quite the... talented artist.

Yeah, the High Elves can be assholes sometimes...
I've never really had a problem with goblins though.

But if not Summerset, what area would you like the Elder Scroll series to focus on?

I'm pretty fine with Skyrim, but if I had to choose another place, it would be Elsweyr, no question about it.
I just really like Khajiit, ok?

I wanted Skyrim, but for the next game I'm hoping for High Rock. Possibility of rebellion, the prominence of magic, the Warp of the West, and a few other things could all make for interesting events.

I kind of like the idea of Summerset Isle.

I am fine with Skyrim though, its a pretty awesome setting. But if the next game is set on Summerset, or they do a Shivering Isles kinda thing with it, that would be cool.

Maybe they will do that with Elsweyr, since the region is pretty small? Remains to be seen.
I don't think they'd do Elsweyr, since it's on the other side of the continent. Maybe Hammerfell? I think High Rock was featured in the second game. There was a mod for Oblivion that was going to add in Hammerfell, but they abandoned it due to difficulty. They have completed the rest of Morrowind, however, so maybe they'll revive it?

Considering that Akavir is lawless besides some Tribes in would need some serious retcon for that to work considering that the only expedition ended with an Emperor dead.
And a Nerevarine missing, or so they say.

I'm fine with Skyrim. Don't know anything about that world, really, but forests, dragons and mountains are always fun... as long as they make the forests intresting.

Black Marsh FTW!

Dude genius trees that mind control people and run a society of sneaky lizards with spears? HELL YES.

Sounds similar to a Marvel comic...
