Halo and CoD are high up there for me. Gears is a bit lower but still well loved.

Half-life always gets left off these polls, and then 2/3 of the responses are bitching about how Half-Life was left off. I don't get it.

FPS: Modern Warfare 2
TPS: Mass Effect (yes, I know it's an RPG, but other than that, Ghostbusters:The Video Game & Fable 2, that's all I've played that has TPS elements.)

HL2 + Episodes (never played the first, doubt I will now). And CoD up until MW2 (I'm a PC gamer hint hint) and excluding the Treyarch games.

3rd person would have to be SC as I've played all the games and they're all very good (Pandora Tomorrow is the worst) - I would say PoP but I've only played the SoT fully and it's regarded as the best anyway. And it's not a shooter, which SC kind of is. If you're playing it wrong.

Probably Halo. Dunno what it is about that game, but the whole lore of it intruiges me.

I've really enjoyed some of the older Call of Duty too.

Old-style games like Doom and Blood will always have a special place in my heart though.

I've never been all that fond of shooter serials, just individual games. After all, IMO, some of the best games are those who stand apart, who march to the beat of their own drum. Borderlands is a good example.
