I'm somewhat indifferent right now but finally downloading CoX I actually liked it a bit more than Champions online. Even though its class focused you do have some freedom with the powers for the given Archetype you choose. However in CO if you are f2p in that your Archetypes are practically neutered as a means to get you to subscribe even though CoX you can't join guilds , pm or send mail being f2p. (Which sucks as well) but at least you can access most if not all of the content available to you and reach level 50 without many problems. DCUO is right around the corner and I've Decided to Reinstall CO and plan on having all three to have the best of them available to me. However I do see getting Subbed up for a month of CoX and then dropping to premium has its perks and It seems really tempting to actually subb to that game ever now and then over CO. However I am pleased that all of these games are going F2P and wish them the best of luck.

(TLDR)
I like them all what is your opinion on them if you were to choose one.
(please do not turn this in to a flame war / debate war and don't be afraid to explain the flaws of each)

for example CoX combat is rather slow and wonky where as CO is extremely fast.

Have fun and remember please don't go nuts

I vastly prefer City of Heroes, not just over CO but over every other MMO I've ever played. It is the only MMO that I played and enjoyed for long periods of time(5 years) and actually reached the end of the game. In fact, I think I played every single bit of content the game had to offer me about a dozen times, not to mention 25 characters that were a blast to play through.
I loved CoH and the only reason I don't still play it now was because it all started to become the same, the 'new' content was just reskinned old content and I didn't care for the direction the game was going in. Also, the new free version is unfortunate, it is a gougefest and you actually get less for more money.
I played Champions Online briefly also and I didn't care for it. I liked the art style and some of the features but the combat really grated on me. The process of building energy by just spamming the same move over and over felt too much like auto-attacking, which I hate.
I never played DC Universe Online however.

Yeah CoH just feels right to me , and it seems the Roleplaying from what I've heard is alot better than the unorganized stuff that happens in Champions online. Heck they even have more tools to use for Roleplayers in CoH than Champions , Hence Why I will probably subb at least once so I can get better access to the community there and maybe have better Roleplaying experiences there than I did in Champions. but its going to be nice to play all three and have a good perspective on each

Before DCUO I would have said City of Heroes, or rather City of Villains. I think the highest I got was level 16 and it just became an ugly grindfest so I walked away. Up to that point though I was really enjoying playing as a mastermind with the robot theme. Then I got into the DCUO beta and had my socks blown off. Initial character customization was kinda crappy but I rather enjoyed tracking down the themed pieces I wanted for my villain. I loved the combat since I could use a controller on the PC and the missions that capped off quests lines were amazingly fun. Especially the one where I got to fight Batman, that was a bastard of a fight but I ultimately triumphed over the Bat.

I didn't play past beta though, the game seemed too unpolished at it's release to warrant me slapping down the money for discs and a monthly fee.

Champions was pretty cool as well, I liked the gunslinger class immensely but ultimately the game just seemed directionless and the world story just not interesting enough to get invested in.

Picking one I'd say that DCUO comes closest to my picture of an ideal super hero/villain MMO. It's not perfect by a long shot but out of the three I had the most fun playing it.

My main issue with the CoX F2P is they made it so Incarnate stuff is VIP only, which basically killed any chance of me spending money on the game again.

I really am a bit of a Roleplay junkie , mainly after trying it in Darkfall online and never really enjoying it but going into Champions F2P it was fun while it lasted but some idiot metagamed/godmodded his character in an attempt to practically dominate the entire roleplay at that time. So now I'm doing play by post stuff for now , looking at CoH and DCUO hoping to land in a community with Roleplaying that doesn't have that or have players that have ridiculous drama parties which in turn gives me headaches.

more feedback would be nice thank you :)
