My favorite of all-time was GMR. However, EGM is pretty much king.

Notice how I mentioned two magazines that are out of print (yes, EGM will return in some form). That's because I don't subscribe to gaming rags anymore because they all suck... 'cept for the Escapist.
I remember GMR, In fact I read the first issue. Their guide for it was Metroid Prime, it was cool.

No GI, really, im ashamed of you, very very ashamed. The Escapist would be my pick for websight though.

I, have a choice between either Nintendo power, and OXM. Their both pretty good.
All the actual magazines I've ever read have a particular slant and aren't very intelligent or thoughtful. I can't think of a single break with the party line that I've encountered.

GamePro came out of the Genesis era, if I recall correctly, and now they've settled into a Playstation and XBox masturba-thon. Game Informer is the right hand of the insidious Gamestop with its (the worst kind, not the fun-lovin' kind of) pot head employees and gimmickery and general lack of knowledge/concern for the consumer, plus they're Sony whores from way back when the Playstation first brought the jocks and preps into gaming. And Nintendo Power, published by Nintendo. That says it all.

I like Escapist for the forums, and for Yatzee and MovieBob. Occasionally I'll check out Rebecca or the Unskippable guys. I go to IGN for reviews on everything except movies.

Really, you can not think of ANY break within the line of "current" gaming magazines?

That is correct. I'm not saying that I'm omniscient or that there haven't been and mind you, I only read the actual magazines when I've got time to kill and I'm near a bookstore. But like I said, I can't recall a single memory of being informed on a game by a magazine, unless you count "classified information" in Nintendo Power 20 years ago, helping me get past a Ninja Gaiden level.

I read a review of No More Heroes in a Game Informer or GamePro that was at a neighbor's house. It positively slammed the game. If you check out Yatzee's review or the one on IGN, both review deep flaws but an overall very satisfying title that is unlike any other gaming experience. I bought the game and it led me to reverse my "no favorites" policy. See where I'm going with this? It's like going to Sean Hannity or Keith Olbermann for a thoughtful critique of President Obama's performance. There were many reasons to have qualms about him while he was running, and I've got a few gripes for him now. But you're not going to hear legitimate complaints about the President from either of these guys.

The internet. The only time I read any print gaming magazine is when I have a free subscription for some reason or other (and then it mainly serves as something to read while in the bathroom).

OXM, I rarely buy magazines, but when I do I buy then, and I read their articles on the internet.
Well aren't you the most interesting man in the world... "I don't always buy gaming magazines, but when I do, I prefer... OXM.

Stay thirsty, my friends."
Ok, I'm all for sarcasm, not so much when it is gratuitous and off topic why?
Well, I had posted on topic beforehand, but I felt the need to make a comment on your post. No offense meant. My bad.
I didn't take any, just felt a bit gratuitous

It used to beGame Informer back when I wasn't old enough to have an opinion or think freely.(I was around 9 or 10.)

And now the Escapist.

I'll grab a copy of GamesTM if I'm waiting for a train or something, but the internet is usually good enough.
