lately i have been trying to decide which plan i want to go with. i cant afford both but love netflix too much to cancel it (god im suddenly aware of what a first world problem this is).

the advantage of streaming is that its much more convenient, usually faster than streaming it illegally, and you can rewatch movies you saw a while ago without having to order them again, and have movie marathons

the advantage of disks is a wider selection, access to special features and...well i guess thats it. wider selection is big though, especially since ive heard that movie studios are becoming more and more reluctant to cooperate with netflix. i dont full understand it but basically what ive read leads me to believe the gap between dvd selection and streaming selection could grow wider over time.

so anyway, what service plan are you going with?

Wait. Are they splitting the services?
yeah, they are increasing the price so it will be $8 to get either just streaming or just dvds, or $16 to continue getting both services

That's a load of shit. I was just doing the instant streaming. I was thinking of upgrading to DVD's, too, but not anymore.

I'll be getting both. Not too much of a difference for me really >>. Netflix one of the best things to come out of the last decade... or something, I'd probably pay even more for both.

If I did have to choose between the two though, I'd pick streaming. The convenience is fantastic.

Wait, what? I thought they were dropping the price of just streaming but increasing the price of having the double service.

they're dropping the price of just streaming or just dvds, from 10 dollars to 8 dollars a month, but to use both services at the same time its gonna be $16. thats my understanding

I'm *thrilled* they're doing this, because I can't access the streaming and it really, really irks me. I need a special device? What's wrong with my fucking *PC* that I'm using to see Netflix in the first place?

I have an Xbox 360, but i don't have XBL and right now I can't afford it. Besides, most of the things on my queue that most interest me weren't available for streaming anyway. So I'll take the fee reduction and be happy with it. Irony is, I can come a lot closer to justifying paying for XBL with the money I'd save.
