Poll: Which version of Prey was better? New Prey or cancelled prey 2?

so my friends, there are 2 different version. one is bounty hunter version which was cancelled. other is System shockish FPS/RPG horror space.

which version you found better? I personally hated bounty hunter version when it was reveal i saw footage and i left very unimpressed. it looked very mediocre and bland. never understand what people saw it. not that i am a fan of original prey. i dont even like that at all.

fast forward at this year E3. new Prey was biggest surprised for me this year. and now new gameplay out. it looks really good. plus extended demo shown at quakecon behind the close door (like Doom does) and many people were impressed. game is not just standard FPS. it has RPG, horror, exploration, suspense. imo Arkane and Bethesda are doing excellent job.

so which version you prefer? lets discuss and vote on poll

Y'know, because I haven't played either one and I'm not about to use barebones trailers and marketing buzzwords to form an opinion without some hands-on experience.

Cancelled prey 2. At least it had a unique concept behind it.

The cancelled prey looked cool at the time. I don't think the concept held up though.

As a friendly FYI, this isn't probably going to go as well as the question would like.

OT: GTA 6 for the win! Or Red Dead Redemption 2, there is probably prey in that and guns and it'll be all masculine and badass. Can't wait! squeeeeee! Maybe Dishonoured 2, as we have more info on that at least.

I just want the plot to connect to one. I don't really have preference for either otherwise. I was expecting/hoping the old Prey 2 to be like the first couple of levels of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, cause they were awesome, until it gave up on the bounty-hunting.

The current Prey 2 might be awesome...but it doesn't seem like Prey 1 is canon to it, so...it makes me not care.

Well, one of them isn't out yet, and the other I will never get to play, so.... I don't know.

If I'm basing purely off of interest in their trailers and footage shown so far, I'd say the original Prey 2. However, that's not to say that I'm not intrigued by the new one. It looks more interesting that a lot of the garbage we seem to get.

How can you even tell? Prey 2 was never released, the new Prey isn't even playable.

Prey 2. I liked the concept of being a bounty hunter in an alien world. And i didn't even play the first Prey, so the story reasons don't even matter to me that much. Add the neon-blade-runnerish a e s t h e t i c, and i'm sold. Basicly what i'm trying to say is...

Prey 2017... i don't have much to say about the game itself really. Obviously trailer was meant to invoke curiosity in the audience, with its sense of mystery and etc. but it just doesn't do it to me. I'm mostly wondering what kind of space horror they've had cook to us this time, but i'm not even slightly hyped about it. And what does it have to do with first Prey, why name it the same way, why even bother to reboot a "franchise" that consists from a single title?!

Prey 2 was typical console shooter while new Prey is FPS/RPG in the vien of System Shock.

Prey 2 at the time of announcment didn't feel like typical console shooter.

Prey 2017 doesn't feel like first Prey game. It could as well be a completely new IP. From the gameplay video, it doesn't look like Arkane game, it doesn't look like Prey, it lacks the atmosphere to be compared to System Shock and it's visually unimpressive. It simply didn't envoke any emotion in me.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm not hating it. Maybe they'll show some better footage later on. I'm open minded.

As much as I love Arkane games (I still find Dark Messiah to have the best mele combat ever in FPS game), I've learned not to trust anyone. Even the best devs can screw up and since now I work in the industry, I have general idea how much stuff can go wrong during production.

Best thing is to not hype anything, don't get excited, and when the game finally gets out, get positively surprised .

Incorrect on a lot of points, B-Cell! Goes to show that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. And before anyone suggests that P2 didn't have anything to do with the first game is either misinformed or simply clueless. Besides, bounty-hunting alien scum beats any Shock retread any day of the week.

I think the new Prey seems uninspired. It's made by Arkane's b-team, so I'm not holding out much hope, and visually it looks worse than Prey 2 despite the 5 year gap in development, which is quite an accomplishment! I won't be supporting it regardless, because as Prey 2's producer Raphael Van Lierop (The Long Dark) said, its both generic and disrespectful to the series. I would be very surprised if it finds an audience. Bethesda made a very bad choice this time.

Well this looks more interesting than the video I've seen before. Part where he became a coffee cup was indeed cool. It's still lacking in atmosphere and visual department. I'll wait for more videos .
